The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.

A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.

Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.

Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.

It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.



Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.

Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

[It should be obvious to him what a farm or medicine are, but. Look he's spent a year and some change having to educate Haruhi. There's a little tolerance built up.]

You don't know who or what took us here, you've barely been here for any time at all, and you think it'll be all right? You're an idiot. You're in danger just talking to me. That's how much of an idiot you are!

[ with an angry shake of their head, they turn on their heel, beginning to walk away again. ]

[She tries not to stumble over an answer.]

I suppose I like classic Japanese cuisine. Western sweets aren't bad either.

[Not that she could enjoy her food normally.]

Maybe the houses were different!

[ they weren't ]

Oh.

[Loooong pause.]

It's supposed to be 1998 for me. In the month of July.

[compendiem]

Yeah.

[ Yeah... that's not news to him, though, being an idiot. His hands go back into his pockets as he trots after them, uninvited and unpreturbed. ]

Why am I in danger talking to you, though?

[autocatalysis]

[ Why don't we crash the tractor into the gate, actually. ]

... The river's closer, isn't it? I honestly don't know what would or wouldn't work, considering, but if that's the sort of thing we want to try...

[ Ori why is this a tag you've made me write. ]

Xion-san. Nice to meet you.

So you checked all of the houses? Maybe you're like me and don't have anything either.

[compendiem]

[ Because Minato and Naminé did it and it was Bad ]

Anything's worth a try, right? Let's give it a shot. If that doesn't work, I do have another idea.

[ Not as good as this one, though, so he'll hold off on it for now. ]

[leaberator]

In the village?

[ where else would he be???? ]

[leaberator]

My point exactly. Whatever reason we all wound up here, it was planned in advance.

[compendiem]

[ Can he stand? He's not exactly sure, so instead of answering her, he makes the attempt to stand. So far so good... If he can ignore the pain, it's fine. It's fine. He can take shuffling steps, and try not to move anything unless necessary. ]

Ha... Kinda feel like taking a 10 day nap. [ And not wake up after ] Are you doing okay?

[leaberator]

Helpful...? It's a stick.

[ he looks mildly amused at the notion because everyone in kingdom hearts is judgmental of sticks ]

What other little thing have you picked up around here?

[ stop stalling and set the forest on fire, coward ]

[withsadness]

[With Milla's much less weird flex, Mary jumps up and grabs hold, her legs swinging beneath her. Unsurprisingly, her tiny body is easily supported. Mary lets out a delighted squeal, then bursts into happy laughter.]

Yay! Hooray!

[leaberator]

... Well, hey, I'm rootin' for ya. And only partially because it sounds like if you succeed, we get to go home, and I'm pretty big on that last part.

[withsadness]

But I think maybe...maybe if I have to stay in the castle and can never go outside again, it's okay as long as I'm not all alone. So let's stay in the castle together, and be friends always!

[Sounds great. :) ]

[nonbelligerent]

That would be ideal, of course. It does put us in a predicament: do you take a weapon as a precaution, or will that provoke others?

[globs]

...

[ they're used to their friends being taken away, they suppose. Cinnabar is quiet for a moment. Somehow, talking to this guy has taken the edge off their panic. Maybe it's because he's so damn calm - it's hard for them to keep freaking out when the other party's offering nothing to provoke them. They're left to consider the current situation on a more serious level, instead. ]

It might be the Lunarians. They've been kidnapping gems for longer than I've been alive. If they found out a way to go to other worlds, then I wouldn't be surprised if they took humans, too.

[ Cinnabar remembers how they were apparently using the Admirabilis, too. It doesn't seem out of the question. ]

[stillstands]

[ Miki just looks up at the tall gate, and sighs. A little defeated, and a little heavy. ]

But if we don't get it open we really will be stuck here.

[compendiem]

...I kinda miss it being 1998.

[ He was a kid, then, maybe five or six years old. He'd still have his parents. ]

Other people... I've met somebody from more than a hundred years in the future. That's pretty cool, isn't it? [ It's weird ]

[withsadness]

Hmmm...okay!

[And yet, she's still here.]

Then what shall we do instead...

[preowned]

But where? Where does the horse like to hang out?

[globs]

Huh?

[ staring at her questioningly with narrowed eyes. She's obviously not a gem... Something like Sensei, maybe? ]

[yokeye]

[Toki approves of both of those.]

Alright, so let's find something to eat somewhere!

[He's just going to pick a direction and hopefully they'll end up at the kitchen or the farmlands.]
