Week One
30 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

“Last night, Lune and I were finally able to get some answers. Or, at least, something we can do to help. The core’s still experiencing fluctuations and some instability, but we’ve figured out a place some of it might be coming from.”

They stop, excitedly holding up a scroll.

“This core is connected to several worlds out there. It’s the heart of the universe and everything that happens here can be affected by the outside, and can affect the worlds you come from. We found somewhere that seems to have a source of darkness lurking around…if we find it and clear the corruption, we can help stabilize the core a little more and help protect yourselves while you’re here.”

With that, they seem to lose steam just a little, looking back at Lune for a moment before nodding.

“So, uh…we were able to open a gateway for you to this world. Checking it out might help us pinpoint the source and get this done faster, so…leave whenever you’re ready. There’ll be another gate on the other side to bring you back here.”

That seems to be it, though Sol looks back to Lune again. “Anything else?”

"Look after one another," they repeat again. "And do not believe it is possible to be over-cautious."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find that a simple touch (even accidental) may incite the bond between them to grow stronger for a moment. They will experience a swap of memories through their connection, taking a moment to see a piece of their partner's past without any control over what exactly is being shared.

He's a monstrous height, so all he has to do is lift his arms above his head and grab the edge of the hatch and catapult his legs up to slam his feet into the bottom. He doesn't warn her he's doing this, he just does it, and it's loud.

Unfortunately, it just warps,

and that's it.]

yeah she wasn't expecting that, so she jumps grabbing onto one of the elevator walls in case the ceiling comes down or something

but nothing happens.

Why don't... you try that with the other door...?

[Hm. Bad.

On his feet, he peers at the other set of doors she had tried to dig her way out of before.] Okay. ♪

You should probably stand at the back.

[whitewalls]

[ she'll nod, and will walk to one of the far corners along with mini sora. ]

Alright.

[wildc4rd]

[This time when he raises his arms and grabs onto the edge of the hatch, he doesn't swing himself up. He does swing back, however.

His legs straighten, and his muscles harden when he swings forward and releases. He hits the doors with a lot of coiled power, but it really does little more than dint the very surface.

He steps back into place by her.] Hm. No good.

I'm afraid my element wouldn't help us very much here. What about you?

[whitewalls]

[ she shakes her head. ]

Mine wouldn't do much either.

[ there are not many options here. ]

Maybe someone heard all of that noise?

[wildc4rd]

It's possible. Seems as if we're stuck. That's a shame.

[enjoy the stay in clown town, namine]

It would have been very bad if you had been in here alone.

[whitewalls]

[ i hate this ]

You could have gotten stuck on your own too.

[ hisoka in an elevator alone ]

[wildc4rd]

I would have survived.

[like a cockroach]

Shall I try again? Just to be sure.

[whitewalls]

... if you want. Be careful though.

[ don't make her tend to an injured hisoka ]

[Again, he hefts himself up onto the edge of the escape hatch. He swings once or twice to get momentum, and then he flings himself for the doors.

But this time they open before he hits, and he

flies right on through into the hall. Goodbye.]

[whitewalls]

[ DSGKDSGJDSKGDS

sadly, she doesn't just press the button and go back up, but instead hurries out after him. where is the clown. ]

Hisoka?!

[ WHERE IS THE CLOWN ]

[wildc4rd]

[Right by her ear from behind, a familiar, lilting voice says:]

Boo. ♦

[whitewalls]

[ that startles her, and she jumps slightly, taking a step away. ]

-- oh.

[wildc4rd]

[He straightens back up and raises both hands to indicate the hall.]

Open sesame. It released us. [Fate smiled on Namine--this once.] Do you like books?

[whitewalls]

They're alright. I wouldn't call myself a big reader...

[ she's trying to figure out how he got behind her but it's fine ]

[wildc4rd]

[He's a magician is how.]

I guess you will have to be disappointed then. [He points behind her toward one of the doors.

Library.] A room full of books.

[whitewalls]

There have been more disappointing rooms.

[ and she'll just go straight inside. ]
