As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I would not grow complacent, but I also wonder if you all might enjoy the surprise."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"Maybe we can have another week like the last. It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Good luck out there."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to see odd mirages and hear voices calling for them. Even though they might not realize it, these phantoms that will be haunting them will be their partner's most important person, calling for them to come home. Partners will only be able to see each other's illusions if they make physical contact.

[ no, the talking will continue until minato loves himself and treats himself well. ]

Do you just go by school years then, or...?

Alright then. Today is your birthday — there’s enough happening here to make a day of it, I think.

[compendiem]

[ He's trying!! This week only!!!! taking care of himself, at least, loving is still too high a hurdle but maybe doing something for his birthday can be the first step. ]

Yeah, school years, so I know I'm the same age as everybody else. So, today's my birthday... Cool.

[ He crouches down to scoop up a handfull of confetti, and tosses it unceremoniously into the air, where it flutters everywhere and some of it gets stuck in Miki's hair again. ]

[stillstands]

[ It’s a plan!! ]

Yup. It’s been decided—

[ oh. Confetti. Again. She shakes her head, a bit like a small dog shaking water from its fur. And then she runs a hand through her hair for good measure, flicking the stray pieces of confetti at Minato. ]

Should we try and find some cake?

[compendiem]

[ Oh hell yeah, the best thing about birthdays ]

Yeah. Birthday cake is the best flavor.

Is birthday cake technically a flavour in and of itself?

[compendiem]

Yes. It's the one with rainbow sprinkles.

[stillstands]

... Is it still called that when it's still a birthday cake, or is it called that when it's flavouring other things?

[compendiem]

Well...

Birthday cakes are the only sort with candles on it, right? To give it that smokey flavor.

[stillstands]

[ Smokey what now-- ]

... No that's to show the age of the person who's birthday it is. It's not meant for flavour?

[compendiem]

Isn't it? The older you are, the more candles, and a stronger flavor.

[stillstands]

It's definitely not meant for flavour! The cake is the flavour!

[compendiem]

It's complimentary to the cake.......

... But it's not a flavour in and of itself?

[compendiem]

Hm... Don't birthday cakes taste better than regular cakes, though? The only difference is the candles.

[stillstands]

Maybe it tastes better because it's eaten on your birthday?

[compendiem]

No. I just eat them whenever. I don't know when my birthday is, right?

[ Sticks candles in his cake and eats them whenever he's feeling down... Doesn't matter if it's multiple times a year. ]

[stillstands]

Maybe it's just the whole calling it a birthday cake that makes it taste better, then...

[compendiem]

...That's probably it. Any cake can be a birthday cake if you call it that.

[stillstands]

I guess? But then it kinda takes away the special feeling of having a birthday cake.

[compendiem]

If something happens less often, is it more special...? Or is something special, special no matter how often it happens?

[stillstands]

I think the rarity of something makes it special. If you had cake every single day, it'd become mundane and nothing exciting, right?

[compendiem]

No. I would still like it every time. It's the same with bread. There's variety in it, so it never gets boring.

[stillstands]

But even if you ate a slightly different bread everyday, you'd get a bit fed up with the same texture and similar tastes? Even if they are on a rotation.

[compendiem]

No. I've been eating like that for ten years. I love bread.

[stillstands]

[ ... ]

Do you eat anything else?

[ I hate that this is a genuine concern. ]
