As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I would not grow complacent, but I also wonder if you all might enjoy the surprise."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"Maybe we can have another week like the last. It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Good luck out there."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to see odd mirages and hear voices calling for them. Even though they might not realize it, these phantoms that will be haunting them will be their partner's most important person, calling for them to come home. Partners will only be able to see each other's illusions if they make physical contact.

Well, that was your first mistake.

[She shakes her head, giving a small laugh.]

Almost got it. It's a hot dog covered with corn batter. We can add it to the list of things that are probably underwhelming but necessary to try at least once, right along with italian soda.

[leaberator]

Remind why I hang out with you when you're so awful to me? I'm keeping all this cotton candy to myself, now.

[ he lifts it up a little ]

Can't wait to react in the most unimpressed of fashions. Let's get one.

Oh, no. How will I go on without that heart attack on a stick?

[She nods, tugging on his hand to lead him in that direction.]

You've never had corn dogs, you've never had italian soda... Where did you grow up, exactly?

[leaberator]

Uh. Places?

[ with the tone of someone who has no idea what that has to do with anything ]

We had sea-salt ice cream, though.

[foodbin]

What, like... salted caramel? Or was it just salt flavored?

[leaberator]

[ he laughs, a bit ]

Nah, it's different. Salty but sweet. I'll make you try it one day.

[foodbin]

What, make me? Like I wouldn't willingly try it? I mean, sure, it sounds a little weird, but...

[leaberator]

[ huffs ]

Nope, too late, I'm gonna hold you down and make you eat ice cream, whether you like it or not.

[foodbin]

Oh, no. How will I escape your clutches?

[Meanwhile, she sees where corn dogs are being sold and starts guiding him over.]

[leaberator]

I'm sure you'll think of something.

[ he says it with a smirk but lets himself be led to corn dogs ]

Ah-- they're on a stick! [ why's he excited about that. ]

[foodbin]

Yep. That's part of the appeal, you can just walk around and do whatever while you clog your arteries.

[leaberator]

That's the best part. Never mind the taste, I'm gonna only eat these from now on.

[ he won't. it's not ice cream ]

[foodbin]

What, are you going to hoard a lifetime supply for after this gateway disappears?

[leaberator]

Yes.

[foodbin]

I will find your stash and dispose of them.

[leaberator]

Whaaaat? Fun ruiner.

[foodbin]

You really want to eat weeks old corn dogs for the rest of your life? I'm just here to save you from your darker urges.

[leaberator]

Save me from my darker urges?

[ he sounds particularly amused at that for some reason. ]

[foodbin]

What are you implying, exactly?

[leaberator]

Who, me? Nothing. I'd never imply anything untoward about you.

[ puts a hand to his chest ]

[foodbin]

Mhm. That’s what I thought.

[Even as she gives his hand a squeeze.]

[leaberator]

[ he grins ]

But I still wanna try those corn dogs.

[foodbin]

They are here at your disposal.

[She picks one off the stand and offers it to him.]

[leaberator]

[ he takes a bite while she's still holding it like an asshole. and also because he still has cotton candy in one hand ]

... Yep. That's a slightly weird hot dog.

[ it is exactly what he expected. ]

Underwhelming, but necessary. Also, please don’t tell me you’re going to eat the whole thing like that.
