As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I would not grow complacent, but I also wonder if you all might enjoy the surprise."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"Maybe we can have another week like the last. It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Good luck out there."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to see odd mirages and hear voices calling for them. Even though they might not realize it, these phantoms that will be haunting them will be their partner's most important person, calling for them to come home. Partners will only be able to see each other's illusions if they make physical contact.

As kings are wont to do. [He's just accepting this, that's fine. Also, I hate you for that reminder.] ...we know royalty back home, too, but most of the time they actually come to us instead of the other way around.

Really?

[ she's just going to assume everyone knows royalty now. it's fine. it seems common. ]

To your club?

To our school, mostly, but also to our club sometimes. The last royalty we had visiting was Princess Michelle. [The way he says that though seems to indicate he wasn't that thrilled.]

[whitewalls]

Was something wrong with her?

She was spoiled and rude and made us her servants when she first arrived. [And Kaoru Hitachiin, while fine with being a Host, is nobody's servant.] But Tamaki-senpai pointed out her flaws and fixed everything in the end.

[whitewalls]

... this Tamaki seems like a really strong person.

[ takaomi, in another universe, disagrees ]

[Luckily this is Naminé and not Takaomi because...Kaoru grins almost fondly.]

He's. Something. [Hm.] He's an idiot and he's flighty and he's annoying and loud and doesn't know when to quit...but he's kind. And he's persistent and he's very good with understanding people even when he follows his own whims. Sometimes he's bad at understanding himself, but he's always figured out ways to understand us.

I guess you could say he's actually stronger than most people I know.

[whitewalls]

... ah.

[ she smiles too. it's kind of hard not to, after hearing something like that. ]

He must be really important to you.

[twinsightful]

[Don't embarrass him. But there's a laugh anyway.]

He's the one who brought all of us together, so I suppose you could say that. When he started the club, he wouldn't stop bothering me and Hikaru until we joined him even when he lost the game he was supposed to play to earn our acceptance.

...eventually, we had to give him credit for allowing us to be exactly the way we were. [A shrug.] If he were here I think he'd still try to make the most of everything. [Like an idiot.]

[whitewalls]

... I know someone like that too. It makes you wonder how different things might be if they were here.

[ although she is glad that sora isn't. naminé doesn't want to think of how he'd take all of these deaths. ]

I'm glad you're surrounded by people like that.

[twinsightful]

I've been wondering that from the beginning. Perhaps if they were here...we'd be in a better position. [Likewise, he's glad Tamaki's not here because that'd be almost cruel.]

But thanks, I think. It's taken a while to realize it, but it's for the better. And that person you've mentioned...they're a good person, too?

[whitewalls]

... he is. He's the best person I know.

[ her smiles goes softer. ]

I think things would be really different if he were here, but... I don't want him to hurt any more.

[twinsightful]

I think that's the thing about those kind of people. They'd be the best to have around, but it'd be the worst to see them go through this. [There's a soft hum.] But I suppose that's why people like us exist.

[whitewalls]

To support them, I guess.

[ ... ]

And try our hardest here.

[twinsightful]

[There's a nod.]

A lot of us are trying more than we had before. That has to count for something. [He glances down at the ground again.] And with more of these gateways opening...we don't really get an option anyway.

[whitewalls]

... it makes me wonder what happens after we leave. We're changing things, aren't we?

[twinsightful]

Supposedly. I hope it's for the better, but maybe it's changing enough that we won't even notice. We'll think things have always been the way they are. I'm still not clear how time works here.

[whitewalls]

Well... I know time back home is stopped?

Which means that we'll be older than everyone back home when we go back.

[twinsightful]

...I hadn't thought of it that way. That would definitely mean people would notice then. How are we supposed to explain that?

[whitewalls]

... I'm not sure.

If we don't stay here for too long, it probably won't be that noticeable.

[ but the fear that this can take actual years is very real ]

[twinsightful]

Let's hope we find a solution soon then. I'm sure we all have things to get back to that depends on us regardless of time pausing.

[...] But there's also the part where we still don't know what we need to do here.

[whitewalls]

Right...

The instructions we were given were pretty vague.

[twinsightful]

Everything seems to be a pattern right now of going to these gateways and trying to find stuff in them, and then going through a trial. What's the point?

[whitewalls]

... I'm not sure.

Things are easier when you can just hit the problem with.

[ sighs................. ]

[twinsightful]

[...an amused look.] Are you used to hitting away your problems?
