week five: mingle

Week Five
22 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I would not grow complacent, but I also wonder if you all might enjoy the surprise."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"Maybe we can have another week like the last. It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Good luck out there."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to see odd mirages and hear voices calling for them. Even though they might not realize it, these phantoms that will be haunting them will be their partner's most important person, calling for them to come home. Partners will only be able to see each other's illusions if they make physical contact.

Welcome to your week five mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be having another CYOA this week! Sign ups are here and will close on Tuesday at 8 AM PST.

In addition, ensure that all of your week four private conversations were reported on the page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

No, we don't have parades.

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-12 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Do you have other kinds of celebrations?
omegathree: (34)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-12 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Disgaea has never shown me a demon celebration so:]

No. Not as far as I'm aware, though it's possible I keep missing them.

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-12 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that's... sad, actually. I guess you wouldn't have a lot to celebrate, though.
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-12 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
It seems like an enjoyable place, regardless.

[It's just not really... his place to be here.]

Is this a special thing? Or fairly normal?
foodbin: (pic#13146144)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-12 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
No, it's a special thing. Usually it happens on some kind of holiday or other celebration. You do have holidays, right?
omegathree: (34)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-12 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
[Val looks completely lost by this question.]

What is a holiday?
foodbin: (pic#13146172)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-12 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
...God, that's sad.

[She pauses to decide how to explain this.]

It's like, you take a day out of each year and make it special, to celebrate something big. It could be the birthday of someone important, or to honor a group of people or something historical that happened. People get the day off work, people throw parties - stuff like that.

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-12 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
[What.

What the fuck is this?

He's never looked so confused in his life. He's never taken a day off of work in his entire working life.]

And that's normal for you? Having holidays?
foodbin: (pic#13146193)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-12 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. There's... Let's see. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, New Years, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day... Halloween, but nobody really gets the day off for that.

[She tilts her head.]

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-12 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Nine? Why are there so many of them?
foodbin: (pic#13146144)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-12 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Because all of them are pretty important...?
omegathree: (34)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-12 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
I'll... take your word for it.

[Val, this entire time: ???]
foodbin: (pic#13146162)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-14 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
They really don't celebrate anything where you're from?
omegathree: (39)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-14 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
We don't. Is it that strange?
foodbin: (pic#13146168)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-14 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean - yeah.

[Blunt.]

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-14 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I train the souls of the sinful. I can't stop doing that.
foodbin: (pic#13146153)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-15 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
...What do you mean, train?
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-15 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
I get them accustomed to life as a Prinny. The rules they need to follow as well as the skills they need to succeed in their new role.
foodbin: (pic#13146164)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-16 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
What's a Prinny? And what does the whole sinful thing have to do with it?
omegathree: (09)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-16 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
A sinful human soul is stitched into a prinny, and until they pay off their sins they're stuck working as a prinny.

[He'll pull a little prinny plush out of his pocket to show it to Emma.]

They're usually about three feet high.
foodbin: (pic#13146172)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-19 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
...Ignoring how bizarre that is - what happens to them after?
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-19 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[He tucks it back into his jacket.]

Once they've paid off their sins they get reincarnated as humans with blank slates.
foodbin: (pic#13146162)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-22 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
How does your metric for judgment work?
omegathree: (11)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-07-22 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
I don't the judging. I suspect its up to God.
