It may be difficult to sleep with the light shining so brightly throughout the night, but the participants can rest easy knowing they will not be plagued by unwanted, disturbing dreams. Early the next day, a bell chimes and all will feel compelled to enter the main meeting hall.

The hall looks mostly the same as it always has, the two thrones for Lune and Sol at the head of the room and scrolls hanging from the walls. The metal box sits on a table near the front, along with the glass boxes perfectly centered before the benches in the room. Now that the trial is in session, Shirasu, Lili, Miki and Minato's coffins are open, and their bodies will be available for examination.

Lune and Sol are seated in their thrones, patiently waiting for the last participant to settle. It's only when everyone has gathered that Sol speaks first.

"Nine hours. Don't forget."

They stop, glancing at Lune and gesturing for them to say their piece.

"Face the truth directly, and don't turn away from what you may find."

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the fifth trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

As noted, there was no investigation period on Friday. However, today participants will have the chance to investigate areas in the game setting as they see fit! This can be done by providing the name of the location you want to visit to the host header comment. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. In addition, these locations can be manipulated and adjusted upon request to test theories and solve puzzles, so please feel free to ask if you're searching for clues! Your host will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

BODY INVESTIGATION

[The bodies of Shirasu, Lili, Miki and Minato rest in glass coffins, the lids now removed. Please be specific about what your character is doing when they examine the body! "Taking a look," for example, will only yield what can be seen at first glance.]

It's the left leg.

Is it still clothed?

Does it have a foot attached to it? Or is this just one leg.]

[what's immediately apparent here?]

[Well, she's soaked to the bone. Water Tribe.

It also looks like her right leg is just barely hanging on, like it was nearly torn from her body, and she's laying oddly in the casket like her arms are bound behind her back.]

[Uh.

First thing's first, then. Her leg is barely hanging on, but is there indication on how it was torn off? North will specifically be looking for indicators of, uh, a shark attack. And if not that, then someone hulking out? Yikes.]

[Yeah, it looks like it got chomped and pulled rather harshly, like she was being dragged down. It seems like there was a bite there.

Nom nom princess.]

[Yikes. Is it safe to assume the bite marks line up with those of a shark?

Also: Looking at her arms now. How is she tied up, exactly?]

[Let's examine a ninja!! Is there anything immediately obvious?]

[He's moist.

But no really, he's a little damp.

Though it seems like he's suffered a stab wound in his abdomen, though a bit off to the side.

Also, neither of his legs are broken!]

[First off, she's taking a closer look at that... general dampness. Does it seem like it's water, sweat, or something else?

She's also checking out the stab wound - which side is it off to, and how large is it?]

[It's a bit more damp than just sweat would be - does she want to sniff the ninja corpse.

It's to the left and it looks like it came from a type of blade!

The rest of Shirasu is similarly a mess - there's a number of cuts and such on him, as well as a more prominent stab wound in his chest. Seems like they went to town on the guy.]

[I hate this, but yes, let's sniff a corpse. Bad.

She's checking to see if the stab wound on his chest look like a similar size and depth to the wound in her abdomen, or if it looks like it was caused by something different. At the same time, is it possible to tell how large the blade that caused the abdomen wound might have been? Are we talking kitchen knife, sword, etc.]

MIKI

[all right, what's immediately apparent about his dead partner.]

[Miki is also drenched!

It also looks like there's a pretty bad chomp at the side of her neck, bloodied and everything. Owie.]

[actually you know what can we not have the guy who's implied to have severe vore-associated trauma look at this body

but no, he'll continue. does it look like a shark bite.]

If he moves her around to examine, he'll also notice that her neck seems to fall quite easily - like it's been snapped.]

[are there any markings on her neck that could suggest someone did it with their hands?

also, before he moves on, he's just going to check her face. open her eyes and mouth, etc.]

[ let's assume I remembered to write he had a single shuriken in the pocket thing because I legitimately forgot. Anyway what. what does the leg look like if he cuts into it for my paranoia ]
