Week Six

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. You've done well purging the corruption in the previous gateway, and we'll be doing the finishing touches ourselves. Thank you for your help. In the meantime, we've got another one for you to explore. It's... kind of huge, so stick together when you can."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Hm... There also appears to be something of a change on the horizon. If you are no longer obligated to those you have been attached to - will you stay by their sides?"

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find themselves capable of seeing one another's memories at the simplest form of contact. For those who are closer to one another, they may see a memory the moment they make eye contact, while those who are less familiar may require a slight touch. The memories will feel as though the viewer is experiencing the event themselves.

While it may not be made immediately obvious - there is no partner effect for the week. The houses of the departed partners may disappear, but there is otherwise no bond attaching pairs.

[ he nods and sets about finding the ingredients and spices. as he pulls out the cutting board, though, he'll turn back to akane briefly. ]

Do you want to help make it?

[ he remembers how she wanted to learn before, and since he's lost his usual cooking assistant... well. she wouldn't be unwelcome. ]

[specialdog]

[ Sorry that she's being like this--but she just stares at him for a long moment because she... Does want to help, but she's stubborn, and in the mood for just saying no to people.

So she just doesn't answer??? Akane. ]

[ ah. well. that's fine, too. the silence doesn't bother kara at all, so he'll just go ahead and start cutting vegetables for the curry. ]

[specialdog]

[ Nice, got away with being super rude just now and ignoring a question...

She just watches him for a while, and then: ]

... Can there be extra carrots?

[unfriendliest]

[ as far as kara is concerned, akane's rudeness is nothing compared to his own. he does glance over his shoulder at her, frowning thoughtfully, but he turns back before saying: ]

Sure.

[ no reason not to? carrots are healthy. ]

[specialdog]

Thanks.

[ Part of her thinks about volunteering to cut them, but she decides the moment has passed and sticks with being demanding and unhelpful. ]

[ that's not a problem. he's a little surprised akane is being so quiet, but after this weekend... well. kara certainly can't blame her, when he's not much in a mood for words, himself.

so he doesn't speak until everything is in the pot, all the vegetables plus extra carrots simmering with the spices. ]

...We're not giving up on finding who killed him.

[specialdog]

That's what I want.

But what does it mean when all the people besides Four who got votes were... [ Her friend, her (boy??)friend(#2?), and herself...? ]

That we didn't have a lot of other options at the time? We don't have a lot to go off of in finding the corrupted, and you and Julius weren't entirely honest about what you planned to do.

[ it's not an accusation, just a fact. ]

I don't believe either of you were involved. But if you want to find them, you may have to be more cooperative, if only so we have fewer people to consider and waste votes on.

[specialdog]

[ She won't waste her breath arguing that she told the truth. She said it before and clearly no one believes her. Saying it again won't help. ]

It's not going to get any easier to solve it with more time passing. We're just going to get distracted with whatever happens this week... Like always.

I know. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. You clearly weren't the only one who liked Minato.

[ and this is where i realize i maybe should've asked for a pc oops ]

I talked to Julius the other day. Has he told you anything?

[specialdog]

Mm... Everyone liked him...

What do you mean by 'anything'?

I don't think it's enough to go and attack anyone, or even accuse them yet.

[ just. gonna preface it with that because he knows that was the plan, at the trial. ]

But there are a few people I wanted to keep an eye on. It seems likely it was one of them.

I haven't heard anything about who people are pointing fingers at. All I have to go on were the votes.

We're not pointing fingers at anyone - there's not enough to go off of for that yet. But I don't think it was anyone who was voted for, last time.
