INTRO LOG
Week Zero

32 in Competition
The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.
A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.
Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.
Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.
It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.

Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.
Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

[so she WON'T EVEN DENY IT]
It did none of those things - there wasn't any budge.
no subject
Hm.
[ Miki leans forwards, and taps her knuckles against the door in a few places. Then she takes a step back, lifts a leg and-- well, tries to kick the heck out of it but it definitely isn't moving.
She wobbles a little before lowering her leg again. ]
We're definitely not going to move it just one at a time. There must be a trick to it, or a hidden lock or something...?
no subject
Did you just injure yourself?! Are you alright?!
[look she'S BOSSY NOT HEARTLESS]
no subject
Oh, no. It just knocked me back a bit. You weren't joking about it not having any give...
no subject
[uGH]
I know I said that I wanted your assistance, but don't be reckless about it. [as if lili did not also kick it when no one was watching but it's fine] We don't know how dangerous this place is.
We can look for a lock but... there's a bunch of stupid muscled people around. We can just use them if it comes down to brawn.
no subject
[ she's already on the hunt for a lock. it's time. open, gate!!! ]
If there's a lock we'll probably have to find the key too. I doubt they'd keep them together, that'd be too simple.
no subject
Like a puzzle...?
But did you see any guards people in the town?
no subject
[ Logic, Lili. Logic. ]
I haven't seen anyone around town that isn't on those weird scrolls on the walls in that big building. But there's an armoury, isn't there? That kinda sounds like something they'd have if there was a guard presence here...
no subject
[so someone inside probably has a key??
though now she tilts her head]
Maybe the large gates are meant to be a distraction...
no subject
...
I haven't seen any signs of them, and I want to say they'd stand out somewhere like this, but cameras can be pretty small and wires are easily hidden.
[ Hmmm. ]
no subject
Cameras sound very powerful....
[????]
So we're possibly being watched at this moment without another person around?
no subject
No, they're just convenient. Although that does work against us in this scenario.
[ Nod nod. ]
Yeah, it's possible. I'll keep my eyes out for any signs of them, but if they have set some up here they definitely didn't want them found.
no subject
I didn't think that they'd have something that useful at their disposal... How annoying.
We really need to find out who brought us here.
no subject
Whoever it is, they don't seem to be in a rush to show themselves. It might be possible to lure them out?
