The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.

A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.

Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.

Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.

It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.



Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.

Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

[There's a moment as she gives Akane the once-over, and hums out loud. Dropping the blade, she starts making her way towards the other girl, movements brazen and unafraid.]

[ Akane will sidestep if she gets tooooo close, but mostly just to grab her cell phone. and we'll pretend it's not a time paradox that in other threads she has it but hasn't met Milla yet WHO CARES, DWRP IS JUST LIKE THIS SOMETIMES OK

She offers Milla a smile, now that she doesn't have a SWORD POINTED AT HER. ]

All of us just got here, from what I can tell.

Hmm... so everyone is from somewhere else? I see.

[She moves to sheath the blade—but holds, as Akane swipes the phone, which is definitely being swiped and hasn't been swiped in any other threads, that's how it be in this bitch of an rp world]

That device is yours?

That's right. It's my cell phone.

I guess that makes us roommates.

[forget roommates, her focus seems to be elsewhere???]

Are you from Elympios?

We're all from different places. I've never heard of either of those. [ spyrix? i don't know that. elympios?? don't know that either. ]

I'm from Tsutsujidai, in Japan. Earth.

Hmm... is that so? The information on everyone didn't list their origins, but with so much unknown language, I thought they might be Elympions, rather than Rieze Maxians.

But for it to be another country entirely... or is Japan-Earth another planet?

Earth is the planet, Japan is the country.

Another planet completely? How interesting. The amount of energy that would take is staggeringly high, just for one person.

Does this place resemble your Earth?

[ haha what are you even talking about ]

It's a little old fashioned, and it's not anywhere I recognize, but nothing looks alien to me.

Is that so? Then, I suppose there is a chance it is yet another country, or even another planet.

[She's nodding......... and finally, sheathing her blade. It seems that she's finally decided that Akane poses no threat to her.]

What was that you said before? That we are roommates?

[specialdog]

Who knows? It could be a world within a world. We don't really know enough to say.

[ she would only be a threat to you if you broke her phone...... ]

I think so. [ she nods towards Milla's sword, pleased that it's been put away, tbh. ] That was in here, right? Then it's like telling us this is our space for our things.

That's an interesting theory. I suppose we have some time yet to test it.

[Milla nods, crossing her arms.]

Roommates. I've never had a roommate before, although I've read about them.

[specialdog]

All the theorizing is kind of moot until we find someone who can just tell us.

[ eugh. oh well. Akane laughs lightly. ]

I've never had a roommate before either. I'm not used to sharing my space, and... [ pointedly looks over at... the one bed... ]

Someone must have constructed all of this. It's well-stocked and maintained. It seems only a matter of time before we find some answers.

[Tilting her head, she gives the bed a quizzical look.]

What is it?

Is the bed not up to your standards? It seems the natural shape of a human bed.

[specialdog]

[ Akane nods to that first part, but more importantly... ]

It's fine, I guess, but it's the only bed in the house.

[tothemaxwell]

Yes, it is.

[. . .]

Do you require more than one bed?

[How extravagant...]

[specialdog]

No, but sharing it is a little...

[tothemaxwell]

Hmm? Oh!

[Understanding blossoms on her face. Of course! Gosh, a few months without being human, and everything makes no sense at all!]

Oh, no. As I am at the moment, I shouldn't need to sleep much, if at all.

[specialdog]

[ score!!!! ]

Really? That's lucky for me.

Ha ha, it certainly seems that way.

The bed is all yours... Akane, wasn't it?

[She didn't introduce herself

but Milla remembers.]

I am Milla Maxwell. I hope we'll get along.

[specialdog]

I get the bed all to myself, so I'm sure we will...!

[ is she joking? who knows ]

Ha ha, is that all it takes? Wonderful. I hope I can rely on you, then.

Hmm. There is one more thing it'll take.
