INTRO LOG
Week Zero

The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.
A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.
Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.
Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.
It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.

Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.
Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

Then I'm probably not any of them.
[whichever thing he was, he definitely couldn't be an important one. that was what made games so addicting, wasn't it? he could step out of his feathers and feel good about himself.]
Maybe, um... a model in a developer room.
no subject
[ Why a model? Something a bit lesser, more rudimentary than the character designs that made it out into the working game. He has to wonder why a bird thinks this way—- no he doesn't. He doesn't want to think about why a bird is thinking this way, let alone speaking, so he ignores that. ]
Models are important too, though, right? A basis everybody can learn from... sorta like a mentor, or teacher.

[since, like, this person is clearly trying very hard to make anything he comes up with actually deep and sincere and- it's not. he's not. even if he died, like a monster in an RPG, the world would just keep on going.]
[he's not even worth experience.]
no subject
He lets out a sigh, rubbing at the back of his head. ]
Do you not want to be important...?
no subject
[he stares down at the floor.]
... when birdies would try to encourage me, eventually they'd just get tired of it. So I don't want to bother anybirdie by making them think they should try.
[and saying that sort of thing doesn't even make him cry anymore. is that growth or trauma.]
... even now, I sort of want to run back to my room. But- there's a really scary thing in there... s- so whoever I'm rooming with must be really terrible...

Minato pulls a little frown at that, because he also used to be very quick in giving up, trying his best to reach out to others and always falling short, it was a relief when he could just go home into his bed and forget about things. Not the healthiest way to live, he knows, but it's a comfort. Sometimes you just need that. ]
Which room is yours? If there's something scary in there... maybe I can do something about it?
no subject
[(ignoring the fact he could hypothetically just fly ok)]
It's really scary! It's... it's a bat with nails driven into it! That sort of thing absolutely has to be a delinquent's! A-A-And if I bother them, I'm sure to end up missing and no one will bother to look for me!
no subject
Sounds dangerous... If you do go missing, I'll know to keep a lookout now, right? As for the bat... maybe if we hide it, your roommate wouldn't be able to hurt you with it.
no subject
You humans are so big, though! Even if we hid it th- they could probably snap my wing like a toothpick! I'm very delicate!
