The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.

A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.

Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.

Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.

It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.



Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.

Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

[ it's too casual. how do you not awkwardly ask someone how's talking to people going ]

[whitewalls]

A couple. It's been...

[ she pauses, and then shakes her head. ]

It's been an experience, mostly.

[leaberator]

That doesn't sound very enthusiastic.

[ it could describe her entire life, for one thing. ]

[whitewalls]

This is just the most I've spoken to people who aren't...

[ related to sora's wacky adventure in some way ]

[leaberator]

... Yeah. Been a while for me, too.

[ but he still did it before. he shakes his head and huffs, looking a bit put out]

Ahhh, alright. I know we said we should concentrate on how we got here, but there's some stuff I really wanted to tell you. So how about this-- we look around and see if we can figure out anything, then we meet up somewhere to talk, just the two of us? Whaddaya say?

[whitewalls]

That's fine with me. Maybe in one of the houses?

[ those are nice and private and the roommates will conveniently not be around ]

[leaberator]

Sounds like a plan. Which one's yours?

[ ... because he'd feel bad kicking Mary out if she was around ]

[whitewalls]

It's-- [ she looks over in the direction of them. ]

They all look the same.

[ SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO POINT OUT HERS ]

[leaberator]

[ ... ]

Man, now I dunno if I could even remember which one's mine.

[ he took his gummiphone ... hopefully mary didn't carry her book out of the house because he absolutely paid no attention to which one it was when he left ]

[whitewalls]

... why don't we just go there together instead of meeting there...

[ she would prefer if he didn't just start walking into random houses in search of her ]

[leaberator]

Yeah, that's probably a better plan than just walking around wildly, huh? But I'd have figured it out.

[ he would've absolutely just walked into random houses to find her, but it's fine ]

Maybe we can put up a sign next to our houses, if we're gonna be stuck here a while.

[ big if tho ]

[whitewalls]

... I hope that we won't.

[ she doesn't sound like she's too confident about that ]

I can't summon a corridor.

[leaberator]

You've been trying too, huh? I couldn't even get a wisp.

[ or summon his keyblade, which is more worrying, but he's pretty sure she doesn't know about that, and he doesn't feel like talking about it yet. ]

Whatever reason they've got bringing us here, they sure wanted to make sure we'd stick around to find out.

[whitewalls]

It seems that way...

[ she looks at her hand, frowning. ]

Whatever can take our abilities away seems a little scary.

[leaberator]

I'd say more than a little. It's full on freaky-deaky.

[ these are words he just said. ]

I can still use magic, though, so it's not all horrible.

[ there's no still. he's an idiot. ]

[whitewalls]

[ she blinks ]

... can you?

[leaberator]

Yeah! Watch this.

[ he does a small fireball in his palm, not considering any possible other explanation ]

[whitewalls]

[ huh. ]

I wonder why you can still do that then... maybe because it won't help us leave?

[ she hasn't figured out her own powers yet rip ]

[leaberator]

Maybe. I can't summon a weapon or a corridor, but I can still use magic...? It's like they forgot to take one thing away. A bunch of people lost their abilities, too.

[ hm. but speaking of taking things away-- ]

Can you use yours at all? Not the corridors, but-- the other stuff.

[ how helpful would those be when no one here knows sora is ? but. it's a question ]

[whitewalls]

I can't. It's why I'm surprise you still have something...

[ considering everything that's happened so far, it seems odd that they'd forget to take uno fire away ]

[leaberator]

Maybe they're hoping I burn myself out.

[ IT'S NOT? FUNNY? AXEL??? he immediately breezes past that: ]

I think you might be right, they must've let me keep it 'cause it won't help much in the grand scheme of things.

[ will anyone in this game read powers and figure out they have them? no. ]

[whitewalls]

We should find out if anyone else is in a similar situation as you then. It might help us figure out what they're planning, if we know what they consider useful or not.

[ axel is always useless ]

[leaberator]

[ THAT'S TRUE BUT ALSO RUDE? ]

Hmmm... now that I think about it, I saw a girl using ice magic, but she said she'd never used it before.

[whitewalls]

... really?

[ huh. ]

Maybe she just didn't know she had it?

[leaberator]

Her whole life before now? That's a bit much, innit?

[ he says, to the one year old. ]
