The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.

A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.

Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.

Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.

It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.



Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.

Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

[That's easy enough to admit, and the fond expression that overtakes her looks genuine.

Though so is the way she glances toward the ground, a mouth tightening with worry]

I'll be glad to see her, but whatever is going on, I don't want her to be caught up in it, too.

I see. That's an understandable way to feel.

[a pause.]

It doesn't seem like this area is that large, so you'll likely find her sooner rather than later.

You're right. Oh, I bet she'll be surprised to see me.

[Smile having perked right back up]

Do you recognize anyone on these scrolls?

[nonbelligerent]

Maybe you can surprise her before she even notices these scrolls.

[he shakes his head.]

Nobody that I know of.

[daibanana]

I should, though I need to make more banana bread before then. Everyone ate the first batch I made.

[Smiling proudly at that fact, chest lifted with pride. Maybe... not the most important detail to focus on, but let this girl have her moment okay]

And ah, I see... I guess you could see that as a good thing or a bad one, yes?

[nonbelligerent]

You've been making food for people here?

[already?? well, it's good to know this girl is keeping up her spirits in this situation, at least.]

Yes, it seems that way.

[daibanana]

Mmhmm! [Folding her hands back behind her, head tilted in amusement by the question]

I mean, I'm not a chef or anything, but I love to cook for other people. And I thought it'd help everyone if we had something warm to chew on while we think of a way out of here.

[nonbelligerent]

That's very kind of you.

[daibanana]

[Looking slightly bashful at the praise, though recovering from it with a laugh and a scratch of her cheek]

Thank you, sir!

-- And since I assume we'll be seeing each other until we leave, I should introduce myself.

[clapping her hands together]

My name is Daiba Nana. A pleasure to meet you.

Shess. It's nice to meet you as well, Daiba. I'm glad this situation isn't getting you down too much.

Well, we have to keep our spirits up, right? Until we get to the bottom of all this.

[nonbelligerent]

That's very true. There's nothing to be gained by being disheartened.

Mmhmm, exactly!

Besides, I'm excited to cook for everyone~ Just because I'm not in school doesn't mean I can shrink away from my duties.

Is cooking usually part of your duties?

[daibanana]

Not officially, but my friends love it when I cook for them.

Then I just fell into the habit.

[nonbelligerent]

You must be a very good cook, then.

[daibanana]

I try my best!

If you have a favorite food, let me know. I can make it for you sometime.

[nonbelligerent]

I appreciate the offer, but you really don't have to.

[daibanana]

Oh? If you're sure.

[Which means she's gonna ask again in another day or so because friENDSHIP but she accepts the decline for now]

Make sure to eat well, anyway. Keep up your strength.

[nonbelligerent]

[listen he feels like it'd be a little rude to jump on that offer (especially when he doesn't need to eat, even if he likes food)...]
