INTRO LOG

Week Zero
32 in Competition

The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.

A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.

Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.

Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.

It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.

Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.

Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

You have... friends you'd like to get back to?

[Val has three idiot children who are all doing... something.]

My comrades are there, so I would prefer to be there rather than here.

I trust they'll be able to function just fine until I get back to them.
leaberator: (and just remember!)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah.

[ some of them might be here, but. he has like, seven, so. ]

They can take care of themselves just fine for the most part, but it'll be nice when we can all see each other again.

[ there's something wistful there ]

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Were you unable to see them all before you came here?

[Axel that's too many kids. Put some children back?]
leaberator: ("daddy"? do i LOOK like--)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
[ adopts MORE children ]

Yeah. Some of them are... away, for a little while, but they'll be back.

[ he sounds like he's trying to convince himself a bit ]
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Where is... this "away"?

[He has... a few worries here, but also this isn't his kid to look after. Right?

Well he can say that.]
leaberator: (looks like i'm going to liar's jail)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Not sure. One of 'em left to find that out.

[ it's very dramatic ]
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
How many of them do you have?

[Because despite being separated, he's not going to use past tense.]
leaberator: (do you want a healthy snack axel)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Missing friends?

[ he blinks ]

... Two, I guess.
omegathree: (18)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
How long have they been gone?
leaberator: (can't tie my shoes but i can fuck you)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Not that long. [ for the most part. ] If they take too long to show back up, I'll drag 'em back. It's kinda my thing.
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
That seems to be missing from your profile.
leaberator: (STOP i coulda dropped my croissant!!!)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Because it needs to be updated! [ very dramatically ] I made a promise to someone, and I'm not about to break it because a dumb scroll doesn't know about it.
omegathree: (06)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Ah yes, promises.]

Good. A promise is a contract, it's vital to stay true to your word.
leaberator: (next to a bANANANA)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
... Yeah. I have so far.

[ incidentally, but. y'know. ]

I'm gonna keep it that way.
omegathree: (11)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Excellent. The pain of a broken promise... that will follow you for centuries.
leaberator: (this is the dollar store)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
... I don't think I'll live that long, but noted.

[ he's immortal in people's memories and people's memories only ]
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
Ah yes, humans do have shorter lifespans. Until you die, then.
leaberator: (I'M CALLING THE POLICE)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
... You made it sound weird, man.
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Then don't break your promises.
leaberator: (roxas mommy's working right now--)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
I won't, but you don't gotta word it like I'm about to croak at any minute.
omegathree: (39)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
How long do you have to live? Isn't it something like 100 years these days? You have decades left.
leaberator: (and they were roommates)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
It's nice that someone thinks I'll die of old age, I guess.
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Would you rather I say your time is coming up?

You're sending mixed messages.
leaberator: (what's better than this?)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-02 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, like I said, it's nice, it's just-- not something I ever thought I'd hear anyone say?
omegathree: (05)

[personal profile] omegathree 2019-06-02 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Is it because of the assassinations?

You still have the potential to live a long life.
