INTRO LOG
Week Zero
32 in Competition
32 in Competition
The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.
A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.
Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.
Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.
It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.

Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.
Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

Minato Arisato. You can call me whatever, though.
no subject
well
we'll see how that works out]
Good. Minato then - and you can call me Lili.
[and apparently making idle conversation as they approach the garden:]
Why don't you want to go home?
no subject
What he says is ]
Because I'm curious why we're here.
[ And that isn't a lie either. ]
no subject
You aren't a noble?
A notable scholar?
A particularly difficult rebel?
[you know
kidnapping criteria]
no subject
[ He can be a rebel, but the difficulty isn't in fighting against him, it's in dealing with his personality. ]
no subject
[?????
why is minato so
mundane]
no subject
If I disappeared... [ If it were any time earlier, he could believe it. Removing him from the equation would have meant the Fall would continue and his team would have to fight Nyx. But it's too late. He's already killed Ryoji. ]
Nothing would change.

lili pauses and immediately frowns. it's not as if it's something she hadn't thought before, but... that doesn't mean that it doesn't frustrate her to hear someone say it aloud]
You don't have to say it like that, you know.
no subject
Life goes on.
[ The same thing, essentially, but worded differently. ]
Probably... there might be people who'd miss me. But I'm just me, in the end. There'd be no land or money to gain from taking me.
no subject
it feels a little too familiar??]
It could be used in a way to get revenge against those people but...
[it'd be hard to come up with that sort of explanation for everyone here?? there are like
animals??]
We may have been brought here for another reason then. Maybe they intend to use us for labor...
no subject
???
Also, why Minato. He's a questionable choice to begin with. ]
Sounds like a pain... I guess digging will be a good warm-up, anyways.

[MINATO WHY]
no subject
[ LILI WHY ]
no subject
[why does he need this explained, she's going to clock him herself to save him from his mistakes]
no subject
It's not all bad. Even if it's tough... something good might come out of it, too. You never know.
no subject
Out of being abducted for labor and then used at the discretion of the people who took you from your home?
Are you an idiot?
[she can't remember the last time that she encountered someone who had an ideology so wholeheartedly differently from her own]
no subject
[ An idiot, a freak, a mix of optimism and pessimism, and somebody who can't seem to understand Lili's concern for herself- the people here- everybody back "home." ]
Good things already happened. I got to meet you.
[ Sorry ]
no subject
because the unfortunate thing is that unlike people who just say nice things to lili like that right out of the gate that she completely fails to believe, they're far enough in the conversation that she doesn't think minato is doing this just because she could be used
so she just gets surprised and flustered
the first tsun of the game]
Wh-What are you even saying?!
no subject
Hm... [ Minato falls silent for a moment, thinking over his words, but in the end, he meant what he said. ]
It was a good thing that I met you. I'm glad for it. That's what I'm saying.
no subject
Please stop speaking.
[she can't do this]
no subject
He opens his mouth to say something, but catches himself and closes it again. Okay. No more words. ]
