Week Seven

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

[Hello, fellow travelers. For anyone who might be wandering around this region... If, for any reason, you've found yourself getting a little too curious and stuck in a tree trunk - it seems you aren't alone. You have a companion who looks none too pleased about this situation, which might make sense given the word discontent lettered onto her arm.]

I don't suppose you know anything about these? Because I would really love to get out of here.

[She gestures towards the runes.]

[Well, she went swimming for a while until she got accosted by some humanoid fish. She sure did not stay there long! Now she's sitting on the sandy shore, drying off as she enjoys something from the snack bar. As she sips, if she sees somebody nearby:]

Enjoying yourself? The view isn't half bad.

[This is the only part of the gateway she doesn't lowkey hate. It's fine.]

[Wherever Val's word is, it's impossible to see because he tends to wear a lot of long sleeves and pants.

He squints at the runes.]

I've never seen anything like them before.

I'm not sure whether I should be more concerned with them, or the fact that the inside of this tree is metal...?

[Ugh.]

There shouldn't be a way to be inside of a tree at all.

[He'll... touch the metal, tracing out one of the runes.]

Not the weirdest thing that's ever happened here, but that doesn't mean I'm a huge fan of it, either.

[She tilts her head.]

Well, let me know if you figure out what that might be. We might want to start figuring out other escape methods, if not.
