Week Seven

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

Do I just... shout out into the rift? 'Cause I'm pretty sure I can't stick my head in there.

Milla put it there, it's fine.

[ He talks through a mouthful of jerky, yum yum, Hisoka's missing out. ]

I stuck my head in there alright. Maybe you can try? Or I can do it and let him know you're here.

Yeah, but I'm not ... [ waves hands vaguely to say currently deceased ] So, sure, I guess? Go ahead.

[ Does that matter? Bread got thrown in there alright, but maybe let's keep Axel alive while he's still alive. He misses his chance to die today too.

Minato steps forward and sticks his head into the rift, looking around for Hisoka. Hopefully Axel can't hear him? ]

Hey... I brought you something...

Did you?

[A small smile curves his lips back. He has something in his hands, but it's hard to see right now.]

What did you bring me?

[ I hope it's a knife ]

A friend.

[Hmmm. Hisoka knows he doesn't have any friends, but okay. He's curious. Slowly, he starts walking for Minato and the rift. Maybe he can just go back if it's something stupid.

When he comes bending out in his full gargantuan clown glory, he slides a small, square foil and a palm-sized bottle into one of his pockets. The shift to briefly glitchy data is a little rough, though it's fine. Oh.

It's Axelea.

The smile gets wider, and his eyes glitter.]

Ah, you did know exactly what I wanted. [To Lea:] Yo. ♥

[ Hm

What Minato doesn't see doesn't matter to him, so he just smiles and looks at Axel too. Surprise! It's your friend!! ]

...........

Yeah, I shoulda seen that coming.

[ MINATO, THE BETRAYAL? ]

How nice of you to come try to get me to visit.

[Minato gets a head ruffle. It's not really a nice one in how there's a lot of nail and it messes the hair all up, but, well, Minato only cares about praise, so.]

[ Minato is so fucking happy about this praise, he doesn't care if his head bleeds or whatever from it ]

[ this is karma for him saying Minato liking hisoka was fine, isn't it. isn't it. ]

And you have, so bye now. [ waves!!!

He doesn't move away himself because he has one concern about Minato despite the BETRAYAL ]

[ I like that Axel has just one concern ]

Don't leave... Aren't you friends?

[ha ha]

Are we...? [He seems to be asking Lea this. Is Lea going to hurt Minato's feelings?] Do you consider me a friend? We did spend a lot of time together.

We're not friends.

[ axel draws the line at calling hisoka a friend!!!!*

*axel draw the line literally anywhere else. what the fuck ]

[ Minato's heart is breaking here ]

It's not too late to become friends...

Ah. We're not friends. [There, there, Minato. He'll help.] Maybe we're more than friends.

Lea is just shy. It's why we get along.

How is it that not a single thing you just said was even slightly accurate?

[ THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF HELPING HE'S SO TIRED ]

[ ...haha ]

Watching you two reminds me of my friends.

[ They also hated each other. Wow, this is nostalgic. ]

Ah. [He peers at Minato a moment, and then he glances at Lea.] We even slept together.

Oh well. [He takes Minato by the chin with two fingers and squeezes the nails under the cheeks to make them bunch.] Even friends have disagreements, right?

[ what the fuck was wrong with minato's friends. axel has so many concerns. all of which now include "right i can't actually do anything to stop hisoka because he's not really there. bad." ]

Stop making things sound weirder than they already were.

[ Minato can't really say anything like this? He could if he moves to get out of Hisoka's grasp, but he does not. ]

Hm? It isn't untrue.

[Another squish, and he lets Minato's face go. Instead, he goes straight for Lea. Even though he isn't really there, he walks exactly like he is, so enjoy the chills. He gets right up into Lea's face, very close, and wraps his arms around Lea's shoulders and neck. Nothing touches, and nothing is there, but he's so good at making it seem like he's corporal.

He grins, wide and mischievous. He says nothing, and then he drops his arms and passes directly through Lea. On the other side, he looks back at Minato.]

[ lea stays very still the entire time that's going on, shuddering a bit after he's passed through him. Lingering clown static. Ugh.

There's definitely a moment where he looks exceedingly annoyed, but it lasts barely one second before he sighs dramatically. ]

Great. Now I need a shower.

[ Minato stands back for a bit, looking back at Hisoka over Axel's shoulder, trying to figure out what Hisoka's expecting him to do. Walk through Axel, probably. It's just funny because Minato did the exact same thing to him already, because Minato is similarly terrible. ]

I already did it. Feels weird, or something.
