Week Seven

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

[ ohhh wow, he's chewing the scenery. not exactly a tactic he's used before, but whatever works. and it is, apparently? or at least it's got their attention.

as it is, as Val steps out julius slipping off to the side, making use of the harsh contrast cast by Val's flaming sword to dart back and forth between shadow and light until he's not too far away from the eggs. the two still near them are just a touch too close, though, so he holds his position near a stalagmite and waits to see what they do next? ]

[Sadly, no Demidevimon in this adventure session but Val will just... continue talking.]

If you're trying to scare someone you should be fully aware of what kind of impression you're making! You--

[Then they just dive straight for his face, like reasonable monsters. They'll only take so much heckling.]

Val should be fine. Time to get those eggs, all three of them, and half bundle them up against his coat for easier carrying.

The prinny plush ends up jauntily perched atop the the of them. Keep them nice and warm, prinny, because he's gotta get back out now and that might or might not be quite as easy as getting in was. ]

[This is fine, actually, he'll just end up with more scratches under his clothes.

He takes a step back and impales one of the Vilemon with his fire sword, and the other's wing gets singed.]

[ RIP Vilemon 1. But since Val seems to have their attention, Julius figures it's probably safe enough to toss a minor ball of lightning behind him before bolting even further from it, with a brief delay before it... just explodes into pretty, but harmless sparks?

It's a distraction tactic okay, it's just supposed to make them check out the corner. The one no one's in, because he's nyooming back towards the fork if he can. Maybe it'll keep Val from being mauled further. ]

[Vilemon 2 is having a very hard time actually flying with it's wing on fire, but Julius's distract does make it turn and investigate.

Val's takes the initiate and incinerates the last Vilemon.]

It seems we're done here.

[ his coat flutters less than it would otherwise as he regroups with Val, mainly because it's busy being used as a pseudo-sling for eggs. ]

... They're not very smart, are they.

Nothing down the other paths, do you think?

It doesn't seem that way. They may only be low level monsters.

I can't say for certain unless we check them ourselves.

[ he can still carry more, but on the off chance...... ]

[ unless Val feels up to playing escort mission to julius, holding some pretty fairly sized eggs as he tries to figure out how to carry more, ]

[Val is holding out his hands for the eggs, actually.]

If you're going to look, give the eggs to me.

I was actually going to bring the eggs back to the village first, but if you insist.

[ he also sort of figured a break from the echoing whispers around him would be nice. but.

carefully he unfurls his jacket and loosens its hold on the eggs such that Val can take hold of them now. the prinny is still perched jauntily on top. ]

[Man, he misses his stupid little prinnies.

He sheathes his sword to take the eggs.]

If you'd like to go back, that's fine as well. It doesn't seem as though these monsters harmed what they kidnapped... eggnapped?

It's not a matter of liking to so much as it is making sure nothing catches us unawares... It'd be pretty stupid if we rescued these eggs only to bring them into greater danger.

But if there's little time pressure, then all the better. No need to rush into a bad decision. One of us can take them back, and the other can do some scouting in the meanwhile.

Very well.

[And then... he starts walking off with the eggs.]
