Week Seven
13 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

...A medium time, then. Remembering me at the end of the day is fine... But there are lot more important things in the world than me, so I don't mind being the afterthought.

[whitewalls]

... you're still important though.

I'll think of you, but I won't let that get in the way of anything.

[compendiem]

[ Being important or not doesn't change the fact that there are a lot more important things here. He's dead, after all; he was never supposed to be relevant anymore, after he'd gone and left the world. ]

That's the best way to do it. Everybody's counting on you, after all. I am too... so we can do this again.

[whitewalls]

[ naminé isn't sure why they'd be counting on her since she highly doubts she's going to live for much longer considering who else is left, but.

she'll nod. ]

... are you alright over there? Is Akane okay?

[compendiem]

[ Gestures at Milla's speech later, maybe they'll try harder not to let lots of people die ]

I'm okay. Akane... [ he doesn't really know what to do, other than play it by ear and hope ] I'm trying to be there for her. It makes a lot of other people mad, though, like when I try to be there for Hisoka, or for Shirasu...

[whitewalls]

... Cinnabar.

[ it's not that difficult to guess who especially would be upset about that. naminé remembers that they were pretty upset with minato died. ]

[compendiem]

[ ...Minato smiles, but it's not a happy one, just a reflexive one, as if smiling would encourage himself that things will turn out okay. ]

Yeah. They're both important to me, so I don't want to lose either of them. I feel like I'm going to lose both, and don't know what to do...

[whitewalls]

... it's hard, when your friends don't like each other.

[ and naminé thinks cinnabar is very valid in hating akane, all things considered. ]

It must be like being torn in different directions.

[compendiem]

[ Honestly... yeah. Cinnabar could have torn Akane apart limb by limb the moment they both set foot in the graveyard and people would understand. ]

Yeah... All the things I love about them- and there's so much- I wonder why other people can't see them like I see them?

[ Because Akane and Hisoka are Fake and Cinnabar is mean and Minato is stupid ]

[whitewalls]

[ naminé likes everyone on this list except hisoka but at least minato didn't say it out loud ]

... I think that everyone sees people in their own way. How you view a person won't be through the same lens that another person does, because your memories and experiences help shape things like that.

[compendiem]

[ Someday Minato won't be the only Hisoka stan... ]

Makes sense... I've only ever had good experiences with people here. ...Or, at least, the good outweighs the bad.

[ And sometimes, the bad outweighs the good and he wouldn't have seen the latter if he weren't so stubborn in pursuing the friendship. ]

...I'll work harder to give people good experiences...

[ Because, you know. Memories are in the past and haha maybe he doesn't want to be remembered for a lot of the things he did ]

[whitewalls]

... I think you're doing okay with that. There are a lot of people who like you, even if they don't understand all of your decisions.

[ he even baffles her sometimes but

minato is an anomaly ]

[compendiem]

Ha... isn't it fine if they're not understood? I don't get what other people do sometimes, but I trust that they're doing what they think is best.

[ It's baffling to him that people don't understand his decisions. They're so straightforward. So it makes him laugh; it's weird, when he hardly finds himself likable despite his best efforts. It's weird because he thinks he's a lot calmer now that he's dead. He's a lot happier. Or maybe because he just smiles more around Naminé than anybody else. ]

[whitewalls]

[ card i'll kill you

but she lets go of the basket with one hand, which makes it sag a lot but she's not dropping it. naminé reaches over so that her hand hovers right above minato's shoulder, not quite touching it, but close enough that it looks like she is. ]

Maybe. There's a lot about people that I don't understand either... it's nice, learning these things by talking to each other instead of just watching.

[compendiem]

[ WOW I'm writing nice things okay

Minato smiles a little wider, you know, like how Naminé always gets him to do, and when he laughs his shoulders jump just the slightest, to make that contact real. ]

People watching was fun too. But you're right, getting to be with them, and do things with them... I'm really glad I got the chance. I'm glad that I took a chance with you... and that you gave me a chance too.

[whitewalls]

... yeah. I'm happy that you spoke to me that day.

[ even though it ended with them ramming a tractor into a gate but. sometimes meetings end with horrible vehicle accidents that later turns into a bad trend. ]

Your friendship means a lot to me.

[compendiem]

[ Even though it started with Minato pretending she didn't exist... He was mean to start with, had put through Naminé though all sorts of dangerous situations, and still she's there at his side.

He really is very blessed to have met her. ]

Mm. You're my best friend here, Naminé. I love you a lot.

[whitewalls]

I love you too, Minato.

[ she'll move her hand back so she can carry the basket more easily again. ]

Always.

[compendiem]

[ Always... until Naminé dies tomorrow and breaks my heart. But not Minato's. He'll probably be happy about it, the chance to spend more time with her later, though he shifts his focus on actually pulling his own weight in carrying the basket now, because he wants to make use of the time he has now too.

The eggs get dropped off at the nursery, but that's not the end of their job, is it? Minato tugs a little at the vines, testing their integrity. Still holds. ]

Cool. We should be able to use these to capture any wild babies out on the field. We could use one of those stuffed animals as bait and lay a spring trap.

[whitewalls]

That'll work. They might be a little shy if they see us just walk to them.

[ she truly hopes these babies understand the concept of stranger danger, even if she herself does not. ]

How about...

[ she picks up a fluffy bunny. ]

[compendiem]

[ Minato nods ]

Good choice. A prey animal will lower their guards. We'll go with the rabbit.

[whitewalls]

[ that is not what she meant but she nods anyway. whatever you say, minato

time to go for a second run ]

[ Please correct Minato... because he just leads her back out there on the field until they get to some grassy spot by the trees and Minato asks Naminé if she's able to use the plants to dig out a hole. It doesn't have to be too deep, just baby sized, and then they can lay the vine basket/net over it and the toy on top, and the two of them can hide behind the trees and wait for a baby to crawl up and fall into the hole.

Flawless plan. ]

at least she would probably use her powers to catch the baby so minato can think his plan worked ]
