As the sun rises on Saturday morning, all will be quiet and still in the village. Not a single soul stirs as the sun and the moon linger in the sky, visible should anyone look.

A shimmer of stars spark through the air as a swirl of darkness lifts from the village. Everything has returned to as it once was, all 16 houses in-tact and all buildings precisely as they were before. Beams of light follow, soaring through the air and delivering every single participant back to this plane of existence.

As participants gather their wits and take in their surroundings, they'll find that a celebratory banquet has been prepared for them not unlike the one that originally greeted them. Decorations hang from the rafters and windows as lively music plays and can be heard in every part of the village. Some may even be able to trace the source to a gathering of musical instruments, and even...a turntable? Strange. All manner of fruits and vegetables appear to be perfect for harvest, and a variety of freshly cooked dishes from across many worlds can be found on display at the tables in the center. If you don't see your favorite dish? All of the ingredients can be found, along with amenities to make it yourself.

Surrounding the center of the village, several gateways open one by one, a soft gold glow emitting from them. No dangers linger in these parts, but adventure awaits those who wish to find it. Likewise, silver gateways open alongside these and serve as portals that allow participants to return to their homeworlds whenever they're ready.

Your Oracle Bells are in working condition, all messages saved from your time here and featuring a new network feature. Even as you leave this world, you're only 140 characters away from the friends you've come to cherish. Look around at those who join you today. Look hard enough, and you may even find some familiar faces you haven't seen for a very, very long time.

Though your time in this village draws to a close, the universe has settled and found a path to follow. You will always have a place here should you wish to return, and even when you depart for your next destination, your strength and power will follow you.

Your gratitude will be remembered, participants. Congratulations.



Happy endgame, friends! Thank you guys for a fun nine weeks! Here's a breakdown of what's happening in this post.

-All participants have been revived.
-All locations from the game have been opened, including the locations of the CYOAs.
-All characters' homeworlds can be visited.
-Castmates will be able to come through these world portals and play with the game's cast! So feel free to tag each other, etc.
-The Oracle Bells now have a universal network! We have a post over in the free-for-all meme comm so please just spam each other to your heart's content.
-All elemental powers will remain with characters when they leave! This includes their special skills.
-And yes, all injuries are healed and all characters will remember their time here.

It may be best if nothing is exchanged between us like that, and that you and Tsurumaru do. I'm fine with this as it is.

[ Just walking with him, hand-in-hand, for however long. ]

[ It's fine. She doesn't have much purpose for this walk. She just doesn't want to go home and wanted to see him one last time. ]

[ She's sincere probably. ]

[ . . . there is only a beat of a pause at that - because it's not as though he considers himself forgettable. and yet he knows that sometimes that based on the flow of time, it is not always possible for his friends to know who he is, when he meets them again. how many times will they meet, and he will be forgotten?

how many times will he go to see four's world, and discover a four who does not know him?

he anticipates it to be many and yet - ]

And if you will find it fitting to keep my memory with you as well, then I would consider that the greatest honor.

[ For however long she has left to live. ]

The memory of you will be one of my heart's greatest treasures.

[ She's chosen to believe in him after all this time. ]

[ . . . He pauses then before tucking away the glove she’s given him so that he can his other hand free. He brings up their joined hands and lets his other hand fall neatly over hers, expression softening.]

Did you want to come with me?

Where I go next.

I have a call to answer... but I do recall promising that I would not leave you.

What...?

[ That's not an option that she's ever considered. Even before wondering if she should, the possibility makes her breathless. She leans forward, pressing her forehead against their joined hands, and (what's left of) her heart stutters.

Such a simple question shouldn't be overwhelming, but she feels faint.

When she opens her mouth to answer, a cacophony of animal sounds drown her out. ]

[Ah...

His expression softens at that and he tilts his head even as she leans forward - and then he does too. He presses his lips to the top of her head, soft and fond and doting.]

I have a mission left ahead of me, and someone I must return to...

Though I do plan on taking my time before I do so.

[he has to go stop a crane from badending]

[ It's because he has someone to return to and because he has to stop someone from badending that she comes to her senses—that and the racket she made. She's foolish enough to run away from her problems. She has no problem running because she's a coward and weak-hearted, but if she's truly honest with herself, going with Mikazuki would only make things worse for her.

She wants to say yes, she wants to go with him, but she doesn't want the chance to hate him. That's the kind of person she is, as much as she hides it, as much as she represses it. ]

Please take care of your business. [ She doesn't even know what he's doing? That's another problem. ] I will be fine. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to stay with you, but... I shouldn't. I have my own responsibilities to take care of, and I shouldn't be selfish. [ Even though most of her killing here has been selfish. ]

I would like to ask you to tell me if you were about to leave without saying anything, if I hadn't caught you.

[ SHE'S EMOTIONAL BUT SHE'S CALLING YOU OUT. ]

... well, I hardly expect forgiveness for the actions that I've taken, ugly as they were.

[he stabbed shess? he totally stabbed his friend and wanted to avoid talking about it, because there are a few small things that he does feel some odd guilt over. but aside from those blips, he can recognize that most of the actions are ones that he would've taken if he was given the impulse to. so he was going to take his leave quietly.

It is not as though I would have been able to stay away for long, of course. I remain confident that our paths will cross again, and I will see you all in time.

[haha. "in time".]

... but if you feel truly bound to your duty, I cannot say that I do not understand. Even so - if there is something that you desire, I can now act as freely as I wish to make those hopes of yours come true.

[ Something dark and bitter flashes across her face for a second. A corrupted Mikazuki winning would've granted one of her wishes, but that's in the past now.

She pulls away from him a little. ]

I would forgive anything, as long as you came to my side. [ She says, but she still hasn't gotten over how he killed her. It'd be stupid to bring that up, so she settles to ask for something just as stupidly impossible: ]

Can you turn back time to before my first kiss was stolen?

[ She sounds just a tiny bit petulant. ]

[unsaid]

[if she wants to pull away, then he's not going to force her to stay - but he will just squeeze her hands once briefly, reassuringly before letting her go
