It may be difficult to sleep with the light shining so brightly throughout the night, but the participants can rest easy knowing they will not be plagued by unwanted, disturbing dreams. Early the next day, a bell chimes and all will feel compelled to enter the main meeting hall.

The hall looks mostly the same as it always has, the two thrones for Lune and Sol at the head of the room and scrolls hanging from the walls. The metal box sits on a table near the front, along with a glass box perfectly centered before the benches in the room. Now that the trial is in session, Tsurumaru's coffin is open, and his body will be available for examination.

Lune and Sol are seated in their thrones, patiently waiting for the last participant to settle. Before Lune gets a chance to speak, Sol draws everyone's attention.

"Yesterday…something really bad happened. The instability of the core has manifested into something bigger than we thought, and it's hidden among us. Today, it'll be your job to find it, and determine what to do with it."

They gesture to the open space between them and the participants then.

"Lune and I will help you as much as we can. But the final decision is yours and yours alone."

With that said, they settle back in their seat.

"Oh. And you have nine hours…let's get going."

Incidentally, anyone who did not dance with their partner during Wednesday's party will soon find that they are now sharing a new article of clothing. Congratulations.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the first trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

As noted, there was no investigation period on Friday. However, today participants will have the chance to investigate areas in the game setting as they see fit! This can be done by providing the name of the location you want to visit to the host header comment. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. In addition, these locations can be manipulated and adjusted upon request to test theories and solve puzzles, so please feel free to ask if you're searching for clues! Your host will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

[and there's that muffled sound from their hood again, before they can hope to complete their sentence. a brief sound of struggle, as if they're still trying to speak past the binds...

and then a pause

when lune speaks again, they seem to be lightly out of breath.]

... I can't tell you more at this time... I will try again later if you return.

[like in about three hours - noon pst, 3 pm est]

[ Looking a little concern for a moment before giving a nod. Okay, he can try again later. ]

He said you'd know where to look for the sword.

[ he stalked right over here after talking to sol, so. ]

[lune will pause from where they're having a nice cup of tea

a nod]

I know how to retrieve it, and may guide you today.

But you must tell me where you wish to look. Of the locations in the village, or the paths outside, pick a location and we may investigate.

[ he takes a moment to consider this, thinking back on that dream. ]

...The western area.

[ he's checked before, but. it's a large area, and has animals. it seems the most likely place. ]

Shall it just be you?

Ooh! Ooh! Pick me!

[ sometime before they get volunteers for the investigation- ]

Lune.

[ kara's voice is quiet, like he doesn't want anyone to overhear. this doesn't affect the investigation, at least he thinks not, but he wants to know for himself. ]

Did Tsuru give you his necklace?

[ he knows tsuru likes this one. ]

[cyclists]

[ah.

lune will pause in the next time they lift their tea mug to their hood - and will move to adjust the cloth that normally covers their arms up to their hands

tsurumaru's necklace gleams golden, fastened around their wrist.]

This one?

[it's a bracelet now]

He gave it to me as a token. [a pause] He has something of mine as well.

[i'll kill francy]

[ he sighs - not necessarily in relief, but as close as he can get considering... everything. ]

Don't lose it.

[ guess lune is his newest husband by proxy, cool ]

[they'll lower the hand that's adorned with the necklace to place it over their chest]

I intend to treasure it.

Hello, Lune. Is there any other area we should check?

[there is a shake of lune's head]

There is not...

However of what was found in the forest, I believe that examining some in a better light would be in order.

Though perhaps I speak only because my eyes simply aren't as good as they used to be...

Is that a suggestion to look at the glasses?

[cyclists]

Hmm... were there only glasses found?

[thoughtfully]

I believe there was more retrieved from the area.

[okay shess can't touch the sword pieces but kara has given him permission to look

so what do they look like in the light? what's the blood on them like, etc.]

[cyclists]

[well to start, there are definitely different shades of red on the sword pieces.

some areas are a darker shade which largely cover the area and are the typical color of blood, whereas along the edge of the sword pieces there appears to be a bright, bright shade of red]

[do they look like paint?]

[yes indeed they look like paint]

What happens, once we know who broke Tsuru?

[ he doesn't want to ask, in case it's really who he thinks it is. but he needs to know. ]

[cyclists]

They'll need to be purified. Allowing them to remain as they are would be a danger to the rest of you as well.

The young one and I are not sure what that process looks like at the moment.... but given the grievance that has passed, I cannot imagine it will be simple or easy.

So you don't know what to do next?

[cyclists]

... reviewing your options, it would appear that there is a fork in the road.

Should you as a collective choose correctly, you will be able to help us eliminate the corruption that has manifested among you. It will not be easy, for you have enough time now to know one another.

Should you as a collective choose incorrectly, the corruption will be able to remain among your ranks, and will grow worse. If unchecked, there is a chance they will hurt someone again. In addition, if the wrong person is chosen to be offered for elimination, an innocent will be at risk.

There is much still left unclear about the game that the universe would have us play, and the decisions ultimately yours.
