It may be difficult to sleep with the light shining so brightly throughout the night, but the participants can rest easy knowing they will not be plagued by unwanted, disturbing dreams. Early the next day, a bell chimes and all will feel compelled to enter the main meeting hall.

The hall looks mostly the same as it always has, the two thrones for Lune and Sol at the head of the room and scrolls hanging from the walls. The metal box sits on a table near the front, along with a glass box perfectly centered before the benches in the room. Now that the trial is in session, Tokidoki, Nana, and Junna's coffins are open, and their bodies will be available for examination.

Lune and Sol are seated in their thrones, patiently waiting for the last participant to settle. Sol remains quiet, looking over to Lune to allow them to speak first.

"Even if it is a rather daunting task ahead of you, I hope that each of you will not lose hope. One step at a time, one step at a time. It is not hopeless."

When they finish, Sol sits up a little taller in their seat to address everyone.

"I'm only going to say this once. I know it's not an ideal situation, but...the votes count, and the universe only gives one warning. Can we try not to repeat last week?" There's a pause. "You have nine hours. Let's start."

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the second trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

As noted, there was no investigation period on Friday. However, today participants will have the chance to investigate areas in the game setting as they see fit! This can be done by providing the name of the location you want to visit to the host header comment. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. In addition, these locations can be manipulated and adjusted upon request to test theories and solve puzzles, so please feel free to ask if you're searching for clues! Your host will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

BODY INVESTIGATION

[The bodies of Tokidoki, Nana and Junna rest in glass coffins, the lids now removed. Please be specific about what your character is doing when they examine the body! "Taking a look," for example, will only yield what can be seen at first glance.]

[It would appear at first glance that Tokidoki has no clear impressions of death aside from the general corpse-look. It might require some closer investigation to determine what happened to him.]

[Great. Moving along, he'll start at the head. Anything interesting here? Eyes, nose, mouth, ears? The whole thing.]

[cyclists]

[Not on his head! That's all clear.]

NANA

[televised]

[So! What's immediately apparent here?]

[cyclists]

[Well she's uhhhh pretty fucked up.

It looks like she's been in a rather terrible crash, bruised up, bones broken, with cuts on her clothes and bare skin.

Mashed banana, if you would.]

[televised]

[Oh.

Who the fuck squished the banana.

She pauses, taking that all in, before deciding to take a closer look at what's most immediately obvious. Do the bruises and cuts look consistent with what you would find in someone who's been, uh, tossed around like a rag doll? Or do they look more purposeful?]

[cyclists]

[The bruises and cuts don't appear to have any rhyme or reason to them! They're scattered across her body.

The bruises seem to be from a rather intense impact, though.]

JUNNA

[what's immediately obvious?]

[Well, her back is incredibly arched, even in her coffin, as if she was slumped forward. On her face, there appears to be a rather large bruise on the side of her head.

There also appears to be a liquid that has dribbled down the front of her shirt.]

[hey why do i have to get the liquid, why can't north have it

does the bruise look like it came from her head slamming into something? also, is it immediately apparent what the liquid is.]

[The bruise does look like it was from an impact!

What is Shess doing to check out the liquid? Just looking at it doesn't seem to give much.

(Lick.)

Nana and Junna (sniff check)

[ he's here to check them out. he's going to be a woof and sniff their hands to see if they smell like brownies or baking. ]

[On Nana’s hands it would appear as though there’s the scent of brownies!]

[ okay cool. time to report back to shess ]

JUNNA x 2 electric boogaloo

[stillstands]

[ many hours later, if Miki gently checks Junna's eyes - will she see dilated pupils? ]

[cyclists]

[it would appear that when miki checks junna’s eyes, she’ll find that her eyes are rather bloodshot and possess red splotches]

[stillstands]

[ ah. that's. not amazing. ]

[sure isn’t! is she checking anything else]

JUNNAS CORPSE BREATH /throws hands up

[Sure. Kaoru's going to stall as long as possible but eventually pry Junna's mouth open to a.) see if they can tell if she was poisoned and b.) if they can smell any soft of poison, too.]

[it seems like she definitely died from some kind of asphyxiation if he’s going to check out the insides of her mouth, but there’s no lingering scent of any obvious poison]

JUNNA

[to double-check: when shess first smelled the liquid on junna, there was no cyanide scent or basically any scent but the alcohol?]

[there was no cyanide scent and no scent but the alcohol on the outside of her mouth!]

[also because shirasu is asking—did the bruise look severe enough that she could've been knocked out, or is it a lighter bruise?]
