It may be difficult to sleep with the light shining so brightly throughout the night, but the participants can rest easy knowing they will not be plagued by unwanted, disturbing dreams. Early the next day, a bell chimes and all will feel compelled to enter the main meeting hall.

The hall looks mostly the same as it always has, the two thrones for Lune and Sol at the head of the room and scrolls hanging from the walls. The metal box sits on a table near the front, along with a glass box perfectly centered before the benches in the room. Now that the trial is in session, Tokidoki, Nana, and Junna's coffins are open, and their bodies will be available for examination.

Lune and Sol are seated in their thrones, patiently waiting for the last participant to settle. Sol remains quiet, looking over to Lune to allow them to speak first.

"Even if it is a rather daunting task ahead of you, I hope that each of you will not lose hope. One step at a time, one step at a time. It is not hopeless."

When they finish, Sol sits up a little taller in their seat to address everyone.

"I'm only going to say this once. I know it's not an ideal situation, but...the votes count, and the universe only gives one warning. Can we try not to repeat last week?" There's a pause. "You have nine hours. Let's start."

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the second trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

As noted, there was no investigation period on Friday. However, today participants will have the chance to investigate areas in the game setting as they see fit! This can be done by providing the name of the location you want to visit to the host header comment. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. In addition, these locations can be manipulated and adjusted upon request to test theories and solve puzzles, so please feel free to ask if you're searching for clues! Your host will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

[The drag marks look as though a body was pulled from the entrance toward the baccarat table. As for the table itself, there are a lot of empty glasses...all along the table, there are glasses with just the smallest amount of alcohol in them lined up as they were drained. There's alcohol spilled on the table and on the floor, and next to all of the empty glasses there's one full glass of alcohol.]

Yeah.

[ Hmm... Too bad her phone is dead right now or she could snap photos. Are the glasses lined up like someone was just having a good time taking a row of shots? Are any knocked over to explain the spill?

She'll also inspect that full alcohol glass. Is there... Anything about it that's distinct except for that it's the only one that's full? ]

Hey, we can take stuff back to show people, right?

I don't see why we couldn't. Try not to get your fingerprints on the evidence.

[Can he tell how big the body that was dragged through here was? Yes or no?

After that he'll join her at the table and sniff the glasses without moving them.]

[The glasses are all in a row like someone was having a good time that night. There are no knocked over glasses either, just spills of alcohol. The full glass sure is full. There's nothing distinct about it on sight.

The marks indicate the body was someone on the smaller side, and a little petite. If Val sniffs the glasses, he will smell a lot of alcohol! But as he sniffs the full glass, he may catch the very, very faint hint of bitter almonds.]

[specialdog]

[ Huh. Well. Akane tries to pick up the full glass in one hand and an empty glass in the other? Using mostly her sleeves since they're too long anyway, and this is before she left her jacket on Minato! ]

Do you have a way of actually fingerprinting this stuff, though?

We may be able to ask Lune.

[Anyway. He'll sniff the full glass and pull back frowning.]

Bitter almonds? [That's a kind of poison, isn't it? He's fairly certain he's read about it.] Don't drink that.

[cyclists]

[And now they have two glasses. Congrats.

What now? Will they look anywhere else in the room?]

[specialdog]

I wouldn't drink evidence!

[ But remind me to keep it the fuck away from our Persona protag.

Akane doesn't want to leave before doing a full once over of the full casino, just in case they missed something. But she's moving a little slow since she doesn't want to spill the glass that's full, either. She nods to Valvatorez. ]

Will you look around that side, and I'll check this side?

[omegathree]

I think it's poison.

Very well.

[He nods and cases the other side of the casino, moving slowly and looking at the ceiling and the floor. This place was such a mess. How contained was the fight here, really? Any evidence of weapons used?]

[cyclists]

[There's no evidence of a weapon used, and it hardly looks like an actual fight occurred. It's just spread out and messy.

The drag marks only seem to go from entrance to the table, and the glasses are at the table. However, regardless, as soon as either of them look around the room they'll be able to see that by the bar there are multiple broken glasses and broken bottles of alcohol dropped and cracked and scattered on the floor nearby.]

[ curse Akane's dead cell phone! Akane will leave the alcohol sniffing to Val and instead she's focusing on trying to discern if there's any way to tell how or why they broke.

Like, was something thrown against them? Did someone just knock them over? Magic??? Just lifted up and dropped onto the floor? ]

Poison, huh... So couldn't this be where that Junna girl died?

[omegathree]

[He's just.... gonna sniff the alcohol that's spelled all over. Do any of these have the same faint bitter almond smell?]

It's a possibility we can bring back to the group.

[cyclists]

[They kind of look like they were dropped/knocked off of the bar itself since the glass is in a cluster together. The alcohol by the bar doesn't have the same scent, it just smells like booze. Lots and lots of boozy booze.]

[specialdog]

Huh...

Well, are you ready to head back?

[ she has seen enough, as far as she's concerned. ]

[He'll stand back up and brush himself off.]
