Week Two

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

[ he's in the ninja weapon room, checking out the ninja weapons. picking up each thing to test out the weight before settling on the kunai. don't mind him as he starts placing some into his pouch. ]

but she'll walk in to look at what he's inspecting ]

[ she'll take it, turning it in her hands. ]

You all are hopeless. I'll be spending the next few days freeing you all from traps.

[At least she's willing to free them]

[ huffing out a breath and tries to wave around to communicate that it's not his fault he thought the other trap was the only one. ]

Whatever. This is better than the spike traps.

[Let's get you down, pal. The trap doesn't seem very sturdy, getting rid of it will be easy. Just get up the tree and cut the ropes, and that's all. At least she has the decency to warn before cutting it:]

Try to fall on your feet.

[ dogs don't land on their feet but he's a trained fighter so he should... is this like butter on the back of a cat

he rolls his eyes at that, and does manage to flip himself to land down in a crouch at least and not on his sword thankfully. ta-dah ]

[Good. That would have been an embarrassing death]

Why are there so many traps? There has to be a reason for this, and I doubt it's for hunting.

[There comes Grim Eyes, trying to make conversation with him]

[ Ohh, a sword! Neat!! Akane's first thought is to pick that up before giving him any attention as he hangs upside down. But then she raises an eyebrow at him. ]

How'd you manage that?

[ ... she hasn't been caught in any traps yet. the universe is unjust. ]

he points to the loop around his ankle. that's how, now give him the sword pls. ]

[ ............. She swings the sword around a little. Swoosh, swoosh! How fun!! Not to worry! She's a safe distance from him!

But fine, after a moment of that fun, she'll hand him the sword and watch with interest how he gets himself down. ]

We should really do something about all these traps before someone uses them to get someone all helplessly strung up and kills them.

and thank for handing it back. his tail will wag a little and the he'll do a curl up, grabbing the rope with one hand to try to climb. let's get sawing at it. he will pause in it to give her a nod to let her know he's listening and that it' a good idea. ]

Clearing alllll of them out sounds like so much work, though.

[ Akane you just presented the alternative as: being murdered. Is this really the time to complain?? ]

[What's up wolfman? Val is also looking through the weapons, but he's pretty satisfied with what's on his hip.]

[ familiar enough? he's used to ones with hand guards.

he can't write while handling weapons so he will try to tap where one should be to indicate that it's different. ]

[ giving a nod. like daggers, believe it!

[He'll start looking through the weapons around the room.]

[Milla helpfully waves back, scooping up the short sword. Hello!!]

Ah, the helpful dog fellow from before. Feral, wasn't it?

[ helpful...dog fellow. he would sigh if he could.

he does give a nod at the second question. please help him. ]

[She disappears from view, and there is a motion on the ropes—and suddenly, Feral is falling.]

[ he wouldn't want to be caught anyways wow.

he manages to twist himself around and land hunched down. ignore that his tail moves because he's pleased with that landing. ta-da \o/ ]
