Week Two

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

[if you're wandering through the buildings, you might suddenly find someone (spoilers, shess is that someone) silently grabbing the back of your collar to lift you into the air.

... the reason for which should become obvious, as the floor previously underneath you gives way to a spiked pit.]

[shrine time! this sure is pleasant? the vision of fire doesn't help either; after reeling for a moment, shess writes in his tablet:]

[ feral may have gotten overconfident after missing a trap and is now hanging upside down in a tree. he may have also dropped the short sword he was carrying. great

[ he's in the ninja weapon room, checking out the ninja weapons. picking up each thing to test out the weight before settling on the kunai. don't mind him as he starts placing some into his pouch. ]

[ Minato has taken exactly one step into the gateway before the ground collapses beneath him and he's sent plummeting ten feet down, landing hard on his backside and nearly avoiding getting impaled by his own nailbat that he's definitely carrying around because why wouldn't he carry it around.

[ Does Minato ever make it further than that one step out into the gateway?? Who knows. He'll be tagging into other people's gateway toplevels, but generally, he's got other things on his mind for the week.

His chosen haunt is the ocean for much of the week, just sort of standing a little further out on the shoreline, occasionally crouching down to stick his hands into the water, wait a few seconds, and then stand up again, somewhat disappointed.

He's doing... something... maybe. ]

iii. village
[ Hopefully y'all don't spend the entire week in the gateway either, or else how is Minato supposed to find you... He wanders around the village near evening, when he supposes people will be turning in to go back home for the night, notebook out and resting in his arms as he tries to flag people down so they don't run away from him on sight. ]

I need to know... your favorite food.

[ Minato straightens up, wiping his hands down on the sides of his rolled up pants, which really doesn't make a difference because his hands are going to be wet in five seconds anyways, and he's only deep enough into the water that it laps against his knees. ]

That's sort of the end goal. Do you like fish?

The eating context, mostly... But I'd be interested in the pet context too. Aquarium context. Dentist office context.

I'm a vegetarian, so I don't eat fish. Do we even have supplies here for an aquarium?

[everyone's getting caught in traps and lili is no exception - though it would appear as though she's managed to at least partially free herself? you may hear sounds of struggle from overhead and find pieces of rope falling down as lili clutches desperately at one of them while trying to cut away at the rest of the net that had trapped her. some stray pieces might hit you in the face, oops.

but it will ultimately leave her still rather high in the air, clinging onto one piece of rope hanging from the tree with both hands and if you manage to make eye contact with her - ]

[ Vegetarian... Minato steps out of the water to go find his bag he'd set down somewhere on the rocks so he can jot that down in his notebook. ]

If there's spare panes of glass anywhere, it shouldn't be too hard to make. Water filter, aerator... those are things I could probably figure out how to make.

[ The notebook gets put away- and then on second thought, left sitting slightly out of the bag so the sun can dry up the pages, it'd gotten a little damp while Minato write in it. ]

I don't have much experience building things, but... I'm confident in my ability to figure things out.

[ Overconfident? At least he's confident. He's somehow still alive to this day, so somehow, he's been managing to pull through. ]
