As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

[ Everybody can wear cat ears during trials... Minato looks similarly pleased, a warm smile on his face, with the utmost sincerity: ]

I think it will suit you.

Then... I'll accept.

[ She clears her throat. ]

If people think it looks strange, you have to take responsibility.

[compendiem]

Yeah. Of course I'll take responsibility. [ Probably, at this point, people will know who to blame if they saw cat ears. ]

If anybody messes with you, they'll have to deal with me first.

[forefall]

... No. I'm not the kind of girl who needs that sort of protection. You merely have to own up to your misjudgment.

[ Because it's not like she has any fault or blame for agreeing in the first place.... ]

[compendiem]

Is it misjudgment if I think you look beautiful, if nobody says so? That's my own opinion, isn't it?

[ His (mis)judgment is that he thinks she'll look nice with cat ears. No matter what other people think, that doesn't change what he thinks. ]

GO BACK TO HOLDING AKANE'S HAND, MINATO, AND STOP THIS.

Four's face turns noticeably pinker. She's been made speechless and turns away from him.

Good job, Minato. ]

But also a menace protag, with a smile that teases on his lips as he steps closer and tries to catch Four's eyes. ]

I say what I think is true. And I think you're beautiful, Four.

[ i'm surprised he didn't lose one of his hands today

Why is he like this when she doesn't want him to be? She looks away for a second before realizing what she's doing and stands firm. She looks him straight in the eyes, and even with a blush blooming over her cheeks, she frowns. ]

You can think what you want. It's not like it matters if you think I am or not. It's not beauty on the outside that matters. It's how you are inside that matters.

[ She won't lose to him? ]

[ He could still lose a hand. We'll just say it's a Tuesday.

Minato bites at his bottom lip when Four stands firm and returns the challenge, but if there is one thing he does not have, it is shame. ]

Mm, yeah. You're beautiful both inside and out.

[forefall]

[ There are words that Four has always wanted to hear. There are words that she never really expects to hear from someone who isn't compelled to say them. There are words that she doesn't know if she can believe.

Those are the words Minato has just said, and Four's mind races.

Why is he saying this? What's going on? He can't—

There's fear, there's anger, there's anxiety, there's panic, there's—

Four turns on her heel and runs away from him. ]
