week two: mingle
Week Two
26 in Competition
26 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.
"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."
When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.
"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

Welcome to your week two mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be hosting a mini-event on Tuesday, so please be on the lookout for that.
In addition, ensure that all of your week one private conversations were reported on the page, and your week two private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[ that was a thing that happened by the way...... no big deal ]
If you can get it down, be my guest.
no subject
*emotionally as well, but that one is obvious ]
You're kinda clumsy, huh? [ they keep breaking... still, he was serious about getting the leg down, and lea does have one advantage over nearly everyone else here.
...he's tall, so climbing up and reaching the branch with the knot is a matter of reaching the one branch and standing up. ]
no subject
his comment instantly seems to annoy them, even if he's helping them at the same time; testily, they cross their arms over their chest, managing to stay upright by leaning on the tree and also through sheer angry baby willpower. ]
I'm not clumsy. I was born this way. No matter how careful I am, stupid things like this will happen, and my pathetic body will shatter... You don't know anything about us gems.
no subject
So you're unlucky. My bad. Is that a gem thing?
no subject
[ they all live a hard life, with danger waiting for them every day, despite being effectively immortal. ]
But it happens more to me than the others, if that's what you're asking. I'm weak. [ a beat. ] Are you going to get my leg or not?
no subject
[ time to finish undoing this knot on the tree and-- he nearly goes flying when the leg starts to plummet down, clearly underestimating its weight and his working as a counterbalance. as it is, he yelps, yet manages to only be dangling in the tree by a few feet as he holds onto the rope.
success. ]
How did this rope even lift up your leg in the first place?!
[ IT IS A ROPE? ]
no subject
Idiot. Lifting my leg wasn't hard. It's the rest of me that was the problem. My body's the thing that broke, not the rope.
[ it's their fault for being BAD and WEAK as usual. ]
no subject
anyway he gently lowers the rope and the leg so it doesn't break more ]
Maybe what you need is a stronger glue?
no subject
... Huh? How would that help? It's not like I can fill my entire body with glue.
no subject
You said breaking like that happens all the time. Maybe at least the old breaks would hold a lot more if the glue you used was stronger.
[ what is he even saying ]
no subject
You don't know what you're talking about. The glue I normally use is fine... If it's strong enough, my inclusions will do the rest of the work bonding my pieces back together.
[ spoken like this makes sense to anyone who isn't a gem. ]
I'm made of a fragile mineral. Unless you're planning on breaking me down into dust and reconstructing my entire body with this "stronger glue" of yours, it won't help. And I'd kill you before I let you do that.
