week two: mingle
Week Two
26 in Competition
26 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.
"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."
When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.
"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

Welcome to your week two mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be hosting a mini-event on Tuesday, so please be on the lookout for that.
In addition, ensure that all of your week one private conversations were reported on the page, and your week two private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[ they look really uncertain... and a little shy. ]
Whatever... I guess you can do it. Just... don't touch it. You'll get dirty...
[ plus that's EMBARRASSING!! Milla touching their leg... ]
no subject
[Wow Cinnabar is really letting her do it!! Nice nice.
She's already bounding over to the tree proper, shimmying up the trunk with the ease of someone who's basically just muscles, when she lets out a chuckle.]
I'll get dirty? I am not afraid of a little mess in order to assist you!
no subject
I'm serious. You'll stain your gloves.
[ their voice is muffled by being... mostly spoken into a tree. ]
no subject
[It's completely unconcerned. Anyway, she's really making it up that tree in a miniskirt, huh? It's certainly affording her a lot of........... unrestricted movement, for better or worse. The Lord of Spirits does not care about pantyshots.
At the fork of trunk and branch, she eases herself out on to it—and twangs the rope with some clear appreciation.]
Incredible. Your profile was very honest regarding your crystalline makeup. What a truly beautiful form...
no subject
S-shut up! Stop saying embarrassing things, idiot! I'm not...
[ they're still hiding their face, not even paying attention to what she's doing - their ears are flushed bright pink. ]
no subject
[Luckily, she can't quite see Cinnabar's state from up here!!!]
Will your leg break further if I allow it to drop as it is? Otherwise, I should be able to lash the rope together into a simple pulley construction.
no subject
I-I think... probably... But you really shouldn't touch it. It's gross.
[ they don't want milla to get dirty because of them!! ]
no subject
[There's a moment of pause, as Milla fusses with the trap—and slowly, jerkily, the leg is lowered to the ground—and Milla hops down after it.]
There. Safe and sound.
I am sorry you had to experience that. It seems quite traumatic.
no subject
Cinnabar, meanwhile, only makes a strangled squeaking sound at the continued barrage of compliments, slowly sinking down to the ground and curling up into a ball. No way. ]
It's fine... [ in a tiny voice. they're still facing the tree, and don't move to look at her. ]
no subject
but she sure is touching now!!!
With exerted effort, Milla is hauling the leg off the ground, muscles clearly straining at the weight of it, pushing her to the extreme--
--but she is managing it. Step by step, she carries it over to Cinnabar, expression gritted, but clearly enjoying the challenge of this.
Carefully, slowly, she places the limb at Cinnabar's
feetfoot, and backs away, covered in the dark staining all over her skin and clothes.]There.
Will that be sufficient? Should I fetch anything else for you?
