week two: mingle
Week Two
26 in Competition
26 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.
"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."
When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.
"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

Welcome to your week two mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be hosting a mini-event on Tuesday, so please be on the lookout for that.
In addition, ensure that all of your week one private conversations were reported on the page, and your week two private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

... I thought those were decorative. Wouldn't it be like eating someone's pets?
no subject
[ They're decorative and it'll be like eating somebody's pets. Answer the question, Julius. ]

If it's all the same to you, I sort of prefer grown things.
[ maybe because it's easier to kill a monster like an axe beak and cook bits of it over a fire than it is to find nice veggies and fruit out in the barrens. ]
no subject
Grown as in... adult fish? Or should I plant something from a seed? Bean sprouts might grow quickly... I only have until Monday, though.
no subject
Some sort of dish that involves lots of fresh vegetables, maybe. Or be creative. Like I said, I'm not all that picky. [ ... ] Except I won't touch eggplant.

Tomatoes... That's good to know. I think I can combine that with the pear sauce for the fish somehow.
no subject
but anyway, ]
... I shouldn't be surprised that your ideas for food preparation are relatively avant-garde.
[ and yet,
... should he be concerned for next monday. ]

...New experiences makes things exciting, right?
[ He's never really been one for "tried and true," Minato's more of a "well, let's try this and see if it works" sort of person. An "I'm going to do whatever, and pray" sort of person. ]
no subject
Though, I wouldn't have taken you for a thrill seeker.
no subject
Not so much a thrill seeker as... if something new is happening, I won't run away from it.

no subject
It doesn't matter, right? What keeps you from being the same?
[ Trying new things... Julius had laid down in the river with him, after all. Minato knows he's got it in him. ]
no subject
[ otherwise, from the outside looking in, possibly not much. julius has a somewhat squishy, indulging soul in the end, but no one tell him that. ]
no subject
[ Minato's just a bad judge of everything ]
no subject
[ hence why everyone looks at him like he's grown a third head whenever he suggests something at trial... ]
Is that why you're going around like that instead of resting?
[ now that sOME PEOPLE have mentioned that minato looks like death warmed over, ]
no subject
Yeah... Best to keep active, or I'll get blood clots. I hear it's painful.
no subject
minato's right, actually? even so- ]
I'm pretty sure the activity requirements for that don't necessarily have to entail overexerting yourself.
no subject
[ climbing mountains, wading through the ocean, stalking and chasing people down to ask their favorite foods, all low exertion stuff ]
