Week Two

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

[ this is . . . weird!! but he, for some reason, genuinely seems to be interested in helping her, and she isn't exactly in a position to be able to turn down any assistance that's been offered. she accepts the gauze and does as asked; the tension in her shoulders that had happened when she recognized him starts to fade.

only slightly, though, because this doesn't exactly undo what he's done to her in the past. but she's also not a complete asshole, so she offers a quiet, reserved, ]

[ it is definitely weird. saix pauses in his efforts momentarily....... he could say something. there are a lot of things he could say. he could express that he regrets the way he treated her, in words. that he had no right to do so, that he was just jealous and taking it out on her. he could express that he's relieved that she's not a vessel for xehanort like the xion he last saw was. he could say that he's concerned. ]

[ he could say literally anything. but he's fucking saix, and he's not dying, so that's not going to happen. he meets her eye briefly, then continues dressing the wound. ]

[ he finally speaks up: ]

Axel will be concerned. You should go see him, after this.

she sits still as he works, still half convinced this is a trap... but that suspicion fades when he namedrops axel. instead, it's replaced by guilt, and she instinctively looks away from him with her remaining eye. ]

... He'll be upset that I got hurt at all. I don't want him to get mad.

[ she deflates a little after he responds, because she really has no comeback to that when he's right. she briefly bites her lip for a couple of seconds out of her usual stubbornness before her face relaxes once again. ]

[ ... there are so many things she wants to ask. the main one, currently, is what had happened during the period of time between the points they'd been pulled from, as lea had explained? had he really had a change of heart, figuratively or literally?

. . . she decides she'll save those questions for a time when he isn't helping scoop her dead eye out of her head, maybe. ]
