week three: mingle

Week Three
24 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I wonder if you'll find the skyline familiar? Do try to be kind to those you find on the other side."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"You guys did great minimizing the damage and working together...so keep it up."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to experience the emotions of one another. The clarity of these emotions enhances with proximity, and they will be able to feel the emotions of their partner's intermingling with their own.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be having another CYOA this week! Sign ups are here and will close on Tuesday at 8 AM PST.

In addition, ensure that all of your week two private conversations were reported on the page, and your week three private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[ oh, cursed. ]

And no others? If you're going to research you need to pull from lots of different sources to get a balanced picture.
leaberator: (my god they were roommates)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I wasn't trying for research, more like... trying to see what they were like?

[ if they were even worth reading. ]

With heart stuff, you usually can't just read a solution in a book, anyhow.

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-24 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[ TRUE LOVE CAN'T BE READ ABOUT IN A BOOK!!!!!!!!! or something like that? ]

Uh huh... any reason you're so interested in matters of the heart?
leaberator: (and just remember!)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[ hearts cannot be contained uwu etc kh ]

Funny story, I kinda spent a while looking into all kinds of stuff relating to hearts.

[ not. necessarily romance, but ]

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-24 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Really?

[ Huh. ] Abstractly, or physiologically?
leaberator: (i sentence him to 10 years in prison)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Abstractly. Bodies are icky.

[

yeah ]
stillstands: (15)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-24 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
...

[ Really? ]

You have one, y'know. But if you're wanting to know about the heart as a concept, there are spiritual books that might be more what you're looking for. Unless you're specifically looking for romance?
leaberator: (... what the hell is rent)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but the gross stuff is all hidden inside where I can't see it.

[ it's a joke. maybe. anyway, at the question, he immediately just: ]

Nope. I was not.
stillstands: (97)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-24 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Here of all places you might need to know how it all works.

[ just. y'know. saying. ]

...

There's nothing wrong with being curious about what love is. It's a pretty broad term anyway.
leaberator: ("daddy"? do i LOOK like--)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I try to forget that part.

[ but, also. this child. ]

I know what love is, okay. I don't need an explanation.

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-24 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Then why the serious expression while you're looking at your book? If it's a topic you already know.
leaberator: (how do you know what's good for me?)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
'Cause the book's garbage.

[ obviously? the only reason? ]
stillstands: (18)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-24 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, really? How so?
leaberator: (i ain't ever gonna stop loving you)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[ hm. becks you're gonna regret that, because axel flips through the pages until he gets to a specific bit that he then shows miki. it reads:

"A man fishes for two reasons: He's either sport fishing or fishing to eat, which means he's either going to try to catch the biggest fish he can, take a picture of it, admire it with his buddies and toss it back to sea, or he's going to take that fish on home, scale it, fillet it, toss it in some cornmeal, fry it up, and put it on his plate. This, I think, is a great analogy for how men seek out women." ]

I'm pretty sure I got dumber reading this.

...

[ ...

Miki holds out her hand. ]

Can I have that a moment, please?
leaberator: (hang out or... something...)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[ he blinks, handing it over

this book is gonna get real abused in this thread huh ]

Sure?
stillstands: (25)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-24 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[ you'd better believe it. ]

Thank you.

[ and with that she's just... walking over to the staircase and. pretty much yeeting it down the stairs as hard as she can.

when she comes back, she's dusting off her hands and looks pretty satisfied. ]

Let's have a look around for something a bit more informative.
leaberator: (and i never learned how to read)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[ he's

he's laughing so much? he looks genuinely delighted by what just inspired ]

Alright, Miki! Fight it! Show it how you really feel!

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-25 11:16 am (UTC)(link)
[ Well at least he’s having a Good Time. She huffs, and folds her arms. ]

Where did you even find that trash? There’s got to be something better here.
leaberator: (next to a bANANANA)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Around.

[ he gestures vaguely towards a section ]

And that was prolly the worst of the lot, but all the ones I've seen are ... bad.

[ an understatement.

also how many has he read, exactly? ]
stillstands: (6)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-25 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That’s a good question. Miki just kinda stares at him. ]

If this is a new pet project, I think I have to question your taste a bit.

[ Mr Hot Topic McFire Hair. ]
leaberator: (a knife!)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
What kinda project do you think this is, exactly?

[ he's? intrigued? ]
stillstands: (66)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-26 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
[ You’re cooped up in the library researching romance, Axelea. It’s Suspicious. ]

Either a project to win someone over, or you’re trying to be one of those creepy pick up artists. Which I would advise against, personally.

[ Did Hisoka rub off on you? Is there no hope for the good clown?? ]
leaberator: ("daddy"? do i LOOK like--)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-26 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[ there's a pause where the look on his face looks like he's definitely trying to keep a straight face ]

Well, it's neither of those, but that the latter was even an option is kinda hurtful, there, Miki.
stillstands: (2)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-26 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Consider it more incentive to not become a creepy pick-up artist then.

[ she just staring flatly back at him. ]

Romance is probably a bigger angle if you're trying to get someone's interest. [ Says the girl with so much romance experience. So much. No lies. ]
