Week Three

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I wonder if you'll find the skyline familiar? Do try to be kind to those you find on the other side."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"You guys did great minimizing the damage and working together...so keep it up."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to experience the emotions of one another. The clarity of these emotions enhances with proximity, and they will be able to feel the emotions of their partner's intermingling with their own.

Even if it benefited you greatly? It's a deal I think you wouldn't pass up.

What would benefit me so much I'd say yes to getting on the back of a motorcycle with you?

[A smile.]

If you get on... For the whole week, I won't go to your house or talk to Shess.

[stillstands]

[ . . . No jury alive would convict her if she ran you over with a motorcycle, Hisoka. ]

...

Why should I believe you’d keep that promise at all? [ LITERALLY EVERYTHING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH IS CURSED OR UNRELIABLE, CLOWN. ]

[wildc4rd]

[She gets a small shrug.]

I always keep my promises.

[stillstands]

[ . . . Uggggggh. ]

A week. One whole week.

[ ... r i p. She looks at him flatly for another few seconds before tentatively getting on the back of the motorcycle. She’s gripping the seat side saddle because there is no way in hell she’s touching a clown. ]

[wildc4rd]

One whole week.

[He gets a big smile when she climbs up onto the back. There doesn't seem to be any insult when she won't hold onto him. She can judge whether she needs to for herself.]

You can punish me for being naughty if I break my promise.

[His foot taps down the gear shift and his fingers hold the clutch. The motorcycle growls to life.]

Hold on. ♪

[He doesn't give her much time to really grip because he guns the handle to shoot them off down the road.]

[stillstands]

[ Miki doesn't respond, she's focused on keeping her grip on the back of the seat and watching the speed of the road with a weird intensity. Her grip relaxes slightly, but she's still watching the road...

...

She's done wilder things than what she's about to do, and that's the sad thing here.

When there's a point that Hisoka might have to slow down a little -- a turn, an obstacle, anything like that, Miki braces herself and


pushes herself off the back of the motorcycle in a sort of jump, slide. She absolutely hits the ground with a bit more oomph than intended but she rolls with it until she comes to a halt. And then she sits up and cups her mouth so her voice will travel. ]

You only said I had to get on the motorcycle!

[ And then she waves her arm. ] Remember, one whole week!!

[ Her knees and legs are probably kinda bruised/skimmed and sore as she's getting up but y'know what? Worth it. ]

[wildc4rd]

[Ah.......

It's surprising when she goes tumbling off behind them. He doesn't immediately hit the brakes, but he does slow to a stop, turning enough to see back. The surprise melts into a completely pleased, entertained smile.

Big mistake.]

Not bad, girl. One whole week.

[It's agreement. But maybe agreeing so easily is the bad part.]

[stillstands]

[ Why does she always feel like she needs a shower after dealing with Hisoka? Gross. ]

Just leave him alone in general. Bothering him constantly isn't going to make him suddenly interested in dealing with you.

[ don't be??? an obsessive stalker?? ]

[wildc4rd]

I don't bother him. [He sounds so far from insulted that it seems... earnest?] I haven't spoken to him very much at all.

And the last time, he came to me.

[stillstands]

[ YOU LITERALLY BROKE INTO THEIR HOUSE LOOKING FOR HIM?? ]

I don't exactly believe you. If he says leave him alone, then leave him alone?

[wildc4rd]

[For a moment, he looks thoughtful.]

He hasn't ever told me to leave him alone.

♦

[stillstands]

[ God.

She's standing up now, brushing off her sweater and examining a scrape on her knee. ]

Learn to read the room a little.

[wildc4rd]

[He continues to watch her, but doesn't even look like he plans to offer any kind of help. Or even ask if she's okay.]

He can take care of himself.

[stillstands]

[ Touch her and she’ll shriek so loud in his ear it’ll burst. ]

I know he can. But that doesn’t mean no one should look out for him — that’s what a partnership is, after all.

[wildc4rd]

I see. I do love a good partnership.

[It sounds a bit like an innuendo, but really he's just thinking about Gon and Killua. It's fine. It's only a quarter less skeevy.]

[stillstands]

[ That's still skeevy. She just frowns at him. ]
