week three: mingle

Week Three
24 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I wonder if you'll find the skyline familiar? Do try to be kind to those you find on the other side."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"You guys did great minimizing the damage and working together...so keep it up."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to experience the emotions of one another. The clarity of these emotions enhances with proximity, and they will be able to feel the emotions of their partner's intermingling with their own.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be having another CYOA this week! Sign ups are here and will close on Tuesday at 8 AM PST.

In addition, ensure that all of your week two private conversations were reported on the page, and your week three private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[ minato you are killing him. you are killing your [looks at handwriting on hand] f...friend ]

Okay. Let's try going step by step. So you know how when you're sick, the sneezing, fever and stuff is your body fighting off the virus?

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-24 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[Why is Axel friends with somebody like him again? ]

Yeah. I understand sickness. I feel like that all the time.
leaberator: (two bros chillin' in a hot tub)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[ because all his kids are dumb?

anyway

............. ]

Okay, we'll address that one later. [ MINATO? ] Anywho, allergies are your body trying to do the same thing, but for stuff you eat or come in contact with. It's sorta like it misinterprets what you're in contact with and goes haywire. Still with me?

[ again, please don't @ me on the science behind this ]

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-24 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's fine ]

Everything was washed. With kitchen water, not sea water. There shouldn't be viruses.
leaberator: ("daddy"? do i LOOK like--)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ...god............... maybe his kids are smart after all ]

No, there's no actual viruses. Your body just... misunderstands what's happening and overcompensates the wrong way, so it reacts like it encountered something dangerous, even if it's just a strawberry or something.

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-24 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Minato is the sort of smart who knows about thermophilic bacteria in the hot springs, but will stick his hand in lava]

And your body attacks it and since your body's the battlefield, it gets damaged in the process.
leaberator: (this is the dollar store)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Right!

[ thank fuck. progress. ]

That's what causes allergic reactions. So it can't make you explode.

[ he really needs minato to understand allergies don't make you explode and die. ]

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-24 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[No... explosions were just him being mean to Xion]

But you can still die. And you can get desensitized to allergens too. Like with cyanide.
leaberator: (the fuck? the fuck is in the air)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
No. That's-- cyanide isn't an allergen.

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-24 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It can kill you but you can also get used to it. It's sorta the same thing.
leaberator: (how do you know what's good for me?)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
No, that's-- yeah, maybe the body can get used to some poison by having a little bit over a long period of time, but cyanide isn't one of those.

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-24 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
How does cyanide work?
leaberator: (anyways you said roxas started...?)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[ it's a good thing this came up in murder because he read about it since, otherwise he'd be like "poison... bad?" ]

Well... in large enough doses, it stops your body from being able to process oxygen?

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-25 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
What about small doses?

[Like, he wasn't going to down an entire cup of cyanide during that trial?? He was going to just stick his tongue in it, like any responsible person ]
leaberator: (the fuck? the fuck is in the air)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
You really shouldn't be having it in any doses.

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-25 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
There's cyanide in apples.

...right?
leaberator: (dad look it's the good kush)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
In apple seeds. You been eating the cores?

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-25 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
.....................Not the whole core.
leaberator: (to your fucking baby shower)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
... Which part of the core do you eat?

[ why does he gotta ask this ]

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-25 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Like... the middle? Not the stem part, where it turns to wood.
leaberator: (and they were roommates)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
[ ....... sighs ]

Yeaaaah, don't do that. The seeds are bad for you.

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-25 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
What's that saying... "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." Or something. Right?
leaberator: (and they were roommates)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, I guess, but that doesn't mean you gotta seek it out on purpose.

[personal profile] compendiem 2019-06-25 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not like I sought it out on purpose... I just wanted to be able to help.
leaberator: (then i flew myself right into the sun)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ... ahhhhh ]

Aw, c'mon. You're plenty helpful already.
