week three: mingle

Week Three
24 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I wonder if you'll find the skyline familiar? Do try to be kind to those you find on the other side."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"You guys did great minimizing the damage and working together...so keep it up."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to experience the emotions of one another. The clarity of these emotions enhances with proximity, and they will be able to feel the emotions of their partner's intermingling with their own.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be having another CYOA this week! Sign ups are here and will close on Tuesday at 8 AM PST.

In addition, ensure that all of your week two private conversations were reported on the page, and your week three private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

Baton twirling is a lot easier than it looks.

[ that's it. ]

You were testing for the ... twirliness, and not for flammability.

[ he makes sort of a face like 'well, of course he did.' what did anyone expect. ]

Twirling a weapon usually isn't all that complicated, usually. Or anything similar in length and form to that, really.
leaberator: (my god they were roommates)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh... I've had a rough go of it adapting to single weapon use before, so it's good to know the skill translates.

Is there a reason you didn't just stick with two, then? I'd imagine that if you already had the training, it'd be better to stick to what you know than to try to change your style.
leaberator: ("daddy"? do i LOOK like--)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
That... is a pretty long story.
autocatalysis: (don'т leт yoυrѕelғ go)

[personal profile] autocatalysis 2019-06-24 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, you've said that before about certain other matters too. [ back in like, the intro log where they were discussing dumb job histories. ]

I suppose it's the same long story related to both?
leaberator: (dad look it's the good kush)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-24 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I've only really got the one, very long, very involved, kinda complicated story.
autocatalysis: (and тнere'ѕ a ѕong yeт тo вe ѕυng)

[personal profile] autocatalysis 2019-06-25 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Story of your life?

Just saying, but I think all of us have got that one.
leaberator: (in the world... it's a bananana)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, that's too long. Mine just spans... hm, I guess a decade or so?

[ he goes to pick up the still smoldering stick, twirling it a bit in one hand ]

Even if it was, though, who's got time to share their whole life story? It's a pain.

[personal profile] autocatalysis 2019-06-25 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
There's probably a number of autobiographers out there who would disagree with you.

But in my opinion, you're right in that it's hardly something anyone should be expected to do.

[ it's a pain, indeed. ]
leaberator: (this is the dollar store)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Aren't most autobiographies written by ghost writers anyway?

[ why does he know that, you ask. sheer boredom. anyway ]

But I'm glad to know we got something we can agree on.
autocatalysis: (a deѕerт veιled ιn paveмenт)

[personal profile] autocatalysis 2019-06-25 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Which means there's still at least a few that weren't.

[ though that last comment, pointed as it is, makes him glance back over with a slightly questioning look. ]

Oh? U wasn't aware we were getting on so poorly.
leaberator: (next to a bANANANA)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Neither was I, 'til you went and gave me that comment the other day.

[ it's a joke. ]

[ frick, my typo has been immortalized. also honestly, this kind of friendly-not friendly bantering is the usual for him, so that's fine??? ]

You can't really blame me for pointing out the obvious, can you?
leaberator: ("daddy"? do i LOOK like--)

[ uwu ]

When it's that hurtful? Absolutely.

Unfortunately, much as we wish otherwise, the truth hurts sometimes.
leaberator: (i ain't ever gonna stop loving you)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-25 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[ he sighs, placing a hand to his chest ]

Ah, man. Twice? You really pull no punches.

[personal profile] autocatalysis 2019-06-26 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'm told I wouldn't be much fun at parties, so I suppose not.
leaberator: (can't tie my shoes but i can fuck you)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-26 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm... depends what kinda party. You'd be killer at a business one.
autocatalysis: (and now ιт ғollowѕ мe every day)

[personal profile] autocatalysis 2019-06-26 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
... How do you figure that?
leaberator: (i sentence him to 10 years in prison)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-26 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
I've never been to one, but you're just the side of dry funny I figure business people would find a riot.

You're basically saying I'm only entertaining to people who wouldn't care for it in the first place. Not much of an upgrade, that.
leaberator: (a knife!)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-27 10:19 am (UTC)(link)
Well... are you striving for entertaining?
autocatalysis: (wιll ѕeeм мore lιĸe вad dreaмѕ)

[personal profile] autocatalysis 2019-06-27 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
No, but what I'm saying is that it really isn't much of a compliment regardless?
leaberator: ("daddy"? do i LOOK like--)

[personal profile] leaberator 2019-06-28 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Do you want a real compliment?

(no subject)
