week three: mingle

Week Three
24 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I wonder if you'll find the skyline familiar? Do try to be kind to those you find on the other side."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"You guys did great minimizing the damage and working together...so keep it up."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to experience the emotions of one another. The clarity of these emotions enhances with proximity, and they will be able to feel the emotions of their partner's intermingling with their own.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be having another CYOA this week! Sign ups are here and will close on Tuesday at 8 AM PST.

In addition, ensure that all of your week two private conversations were reported on the page, and your week three private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

Some actual games, maybe. Sports?

We don't really have a load of board games we can just go and use, do we...

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-06-30 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Not really. What kind of sports could we play here anyway? We're lacking a lot of equipment, too.

Races? You don’t need much equipment to run those. Or maybe we have a look for things that could be used to substitutes for regular sports equipment instead — we’d just have to get creative.
twinsightful: (CALM ♜ I get it)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-06-30 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
True...when we had our sports day we changed a few events to improvise. I'm sure we could do the same here. Location is going to be the most important factor in all of this, too. If we don't have room, it doesn't matter what we've planned.

I'd say we could use the beach, but that might alienate people after last week. Maybe one of the other elemental areas? There'll probably be some things there we can use, like the plants and trees in the earth area.
twinsightful: (THOUGHTFUL ♜ Lay it on me)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-06-30 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe a stretch of the forest. We could do something like hide and seek or something simplistic. I think simple is what we need.
stillstands: (19)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-30 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Simple would be good. [ Oh... ] Or that one where you have to catch or protect an item hidden in the other team's side of the area? Capture the Flag, was it?
twinsightful: (CHEERFUL ♜ It's crystal clear)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-06-30 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think so. I don't think I've ever played that one but it can't be that difficult to figure out. We would just need to find items.

It has to be something that's easy to both spot, and to find, right? Maybe we could make something. Or pick a farm tool and mark it with a ribbon. Those would be about the size of a flag, I think.
twinsightful: (CALM ♜ Kinda soft)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-06-30 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
A farm tool? We could probably make an actual flag. We have enough fabric to use. It just has to be something we can't lose very easily.

Sew a whole flag? [ ... She's sat here still watching him make a bag, so. Y'know. ]

We could do. That's quite a lot for one game, though. [ Extra. That's the word she needs.

Extra. ]

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-06-30 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Fine. Then small flags, like handkerchiefs. Those should be even easier.
stillstands: (13)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-06-30 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He’s set on the flags, huh? ]

Handkerchief flags then. Bright colours would make it easier to spot, but their size should make them easier to hide.
twinsightful: (CONTEMPLATIVE ♜ He needs this)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-06-30 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
We can make them so people tie them loosely around their belt loops or their arms. Easy to spot, hard to grab without effort. Is that fair?
stillstands: (91)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-07-01 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
Probably more fun too. That way everyone’s involved and one person isn’t just sat there guarding a square of fabric for the whole game.

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-01 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll put it on my to-do list then.

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-07-01 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Is this all just a ploy to keep yourself occupied this week?
twinsightful: (DEVIOUS ♜ The true face of evil)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-01 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
What ever gave you that idea? [Maybe look a little less evil when you say that, Kaoru.] I just happen to like keeping busy.
stillstands: (61)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-07-01 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Maybe try that because she might feel a little less like she’s constantly about to make an ill-advised deal with The Devil when she’s with him? ]

How do you manage to make stitching a handkerchief sound so sinister?
twinsightful: (CURIOUS ♜ Kill the cat)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-01 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not making it sound like anything. Are you sure it's not just your imagination~? [No, it's him making things sound worse on purpose. RIP.]
stillstands: (2)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-07-02 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
It’s really not. [ Why are you like this? ]

Just know that I’m not selling my soul for a handkerchief and everything should be fine.
twinsightful: (Default)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-02 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
Consider it a deal then. [This is maybe fine. Time to plan for Capture the Flag somehow someway.]
stillstands: (18)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-07-02 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
[ Oh dear. ]

... I’m not signing anything. [ Capture That Handkerchief!!! ]
twinsightful: (Default)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-02 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't have to. I'll remember on my own.

[Time to figure that out later!!]

That's not exactly reassuring, but okay?

[ oof. ]
