week three: trial
Week Three: Trial
22 in Competition
22 in Competition
It may be difficult to sleep with the light shining so brightly throughout the night, but the participants can rest easy knowing they will not be plagued by unwanted, disturbing dreams. Early the next day, a bell chimes and all will feel compelled to enter the main meeting hall.
The hall looks mostly the same as it always has, the two thrones for Lune and Sol at the head of the room and scrolls hanging from the walls. The metal box sits on a table near the front, along with the glass boxes perfectly centered before the benches in the room. Now that the trial is in session, Swift Wind and Hisoka's coffins are open, and their bodies will be available for examination.
Lune and Sol are seated in their thrones, patiently waiting for the last participant to settle. It's only when everyone has gathered that Sol speaks first.
"We've got a lot of ground to cover today. Don't give up."
They stop, glancing at Lune and gesturing for them to say their piece.
"Face the truth directly, and don't turn away from what you may find."

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the fourth trial!
We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.
As noted, there was no investigation period on Friday. However, today participants will have the chance to investigate areas in the game setting as they see fit! This can be done by providing the name of the location you want to visit to the host header comment. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. In addition, these locations can be manipulated and adjusted upon request to test theories and solve puzzles, so please feel free to ask if you're searching for clues! Your host will also be accompanying you on these visits.
Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.
If you have any questions at any time, please let do us know by pinging us on Discord! Dana and Ty will be in the chat and available for all questions. Thank you, and have fun!

how many pieces are we talking. are we talking corpse puzzle. will this be the second time he's had to play jigsaw with a body.]
no subject
about
twenty.]
no subject
if they have to be roughly rearranged into a clown shape he will? if that's already been done though then thanks universe. either way, he's going to check the edges of the pieces and see if this is like, a rough hackjob, cleaner cuts, or if it looks more like none cuts & he was made into a twizzler pull n' peel here.
i don't know how you'd manage that with so many pieces but just in case, ok.
also how big are the biggest pieces i'm trying to get an idea of just how much there is to look at with any individual Clown Bits.]
no subject
Shirasu can rearrange the clown bits to arrange the puzzle - and depending on where he looks, he'll be able to find different things! Looks like Hisoka's still wearing the gakuran outfit though, because Anna thought that his fashion was important enough to put in the notes.
It looks like mixed in with the occasional Clown Bit is... a feather that falls...? There seem to be a few. Where'd that come from.]
no subject
once he's arranged: is there anywhere there are more pieces that looks like it was a more... heavily chunked... area of the body? or shall we just go top-down here and start at the head. the face head, thank u.]
no subject
what does it mean to have a heavily chunked hisoka, teej, please tell me what you know
starting from the top only prolongs the inevitable, and that's why i'll tell you that his hair is down because anna made sure to let me know that in the doc also]
no subject
also thanks for this very important info, anna. is there anything apparently wrong with the face, while i'm here, we're going to do a brief check of eyes/mouth to be thorough.]
no subject
there's nothing wrong with his eyes or face!
except he's smiling.]
no subject
MOVING ON DOWN what's next of note if he's going top-down here? also if anything changes about the state of the pieces he is still checking the edges of them to try and figure out how exactly this was done.]
no subject
not much else looks obvious from a glance! still just vaguely damp pieces of hardened clown.
why do i have to type this, i'm a good person]
no subject
also fine he will take the jacket off-- actually are the clothes in pieces too? i assume so? we are taking jacket bits off clown bits and checking the other side.
for the record the results of this effort are basically flipping over those pieces so only part of him is now facedown and this is now the weirdest inves i have ever done. thanks anna.]
no subject
haha gross]
no subject
are they all like, coming from anywhere in particular, or are we just talking about pieces of vines stuck in particular pieces?]
no subject
no subject
shirasu is just going to move on. he is also checking the clothing bits just to make sure there's nothing in there? intact pockets?? things just stuck? unfortunately this includes the pants. FORTUNATELY clown puzzle means i can specifically avoid whatever piece has the dick.
i take back anything bad i said about whoever made me deal with pieces of clown, actually.]
no subject
and uno sardine that looks pretty grimy and gross hmmmmmmmmmmmmm,]
no subject
no subject
he'll use a piece of fabric scrap from the clothes to set the sardine aside too because he's not fucking touching it barehanded. is it just a gross sardine or is anything else weird about it besides the fact that it's there.
but also he will continue checking the hisoka pieces he has yet to look at, are the leggy bits basically the same?]
no subject
also the leggy bits are basically the same! not sure if shirasu is going to find much else besides these oddly moist clown bits.
and yes, he has a clowner (clown boner)]
no subject
no subject
damp clown? it's however water would smell?
does anna have a cologne picked out for hisoka, you can ask if he had some but this is just an anna roast at this point]
no subject
but okay, he'll leave it at that for now and if we're missing vital evidence by not investigating the piece with the clowner then anna will just live with her choices.]
no subject
when you said the vines were protruding does it look like maybe the vines like, caused the pieces? or were they in the middle of the pieces.]
no subject
no subject
were the clothes wet]
