It may be difficult to sleep with the light shining so brightly throughout the night, but the participants can rest easy knowing they will not be plagued by unwanted, disturbing dreams. Early the next day, a bell chimes and all will feel compelled to enter the main meeting hall.

The hall looks mostly the same as it always has, the two thrones for Lune and Sol at the head of the room and scrolls hanging from the walls. The metal box sits on a table near the front, along with the glass boxes perfectly centered before the benches in the room. Now that the trial is in session, Swift Wind and Hisoka's coffins are open, and their bodies will be available for examination.

Lune and Sol are seated in their thrones, patiently waiting for the last participant to settle. It's only when everyone has gathered that Sol speaks first.

"We've got a lot of ground to cover today. Don't give up."

They stop, glancing at Lune and gesturing for them to say their piece.

"Face the truth directly, and don't turn away from what you may find."

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the fourth trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

As noted, there was no investigation period on Friday. However, today participants will have the chance to investigate areas in the game setting as they see fit! This can be done by providing the name of the location you want to visit to the host header comment. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. In addition, these locations can be manipulated and adjusted upon request to test theories and solve puzzles, so please feel free to ask if you're searching for clues! Your host will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

WHATEVER WE CHOOSE TO DO. xion is hysterically sobbing and screeching bloody murder at the top of her lungs, trying desperately to escape naminé's grasp so that she can... enact whatever retribution she feels is fit for someone who just stabbed her best friend in the back. but she doesn't, because she doesn't want to hurt naminé, and deep down, she knows that hurting or killing him won't fix a damn thing—

so after a while, she'll tire herself out struggling and screaming, and just limply fall to her knees.

[ i need you all to know that andie said "i'm doing a thing francy" and then didn't wait for me to actually respond

but she'll be holding onto xion as tightly as she can, her grip only relaxing once she's on the ground, but not quite letting go just in case. ]

[ with people who are more experienced with first aid already tending to lea, xion just... crumples under naminé's touch. ]

I can't... do anything to protect him... I never can...

[whitewalls]

No one could have predicted this, Xion.

[ she'll gently run a hand through her hair ]

[ somehow, the attempt at comforting her only serves to rile her up more. ]

That doesn't excuse anything—!

[ ... but then she regains her composure after the outburst, and deflates once again. life sucks when you're an unstable replica ]

If all those people who were already next to them couldn't stop it, how were you going to?

It's not just the three of you anymore, Xion. There are a lot of different people here who could have done numerous different things for this to turn out another way. But the only person who we can blame is Shirasu. Not you, not me, not anyone else-- Shirasu.

[blackcoats]

[ at that last utterance of shirasu's name, she punches the ground, hard. her knuckles probably begin to bleed. ]

[whitewalls]

We won't let him get away with this, Xion. One way or another.

[ she's going to carefully take that hand in hers ]

[blackcoats]

[ she's breathing heavily now, not looking at naminé even though she's on her good side, but letting her take her hand. ]

[whitewalls]

[ well, that's... not better, but something.

she won't squeeze it since xion injured it, but she'll hold it gently, her thumb lightly rubbing xion's hand.

there there...... ]

[blackcoats]

[ ...

whether intentional or from the exhaustion, she leans into naminé's side. ]

[whitewalls]

[ that's okay, she'll be here for as long as xion wants to lean on her. ]

[ quietly, her voice hoarse from all the yelling, ]

I really hope this is all worth it, in the end.

Minato has never felt such anger and sorrow in his life— not when his parents died, not when his senpai died, not when his best friend died, not when his best friend's girlfriend died, not when his sick friend social link died, not when his senpai's father died, not when his club mentor died, not when his bird died, not when his clown, etc etc



At least Minato can't do or say anything stupid, falling to his knees on the ground and just sort of staring over at Xion in wild concern. ]

but xion doesn't even register that her partner is affected by her anguish. dinner tonight is gonna be awkward ]
