It may be difficult to sleep with the light shining so brightly throughout the night, but the participants can rest easy knowing they will not be plagued by unwanted, disturbing dreams. Early the next day, a bell chimes and all will feel compelled to enter the main meeting hall.

The hall looks mostly the same as it always has, the two thrones for Lune and Sol at the head of the room and scrolls hanging from the walls. The metal box sits on a table near the front, along with the glass boxes perfectly centered before the benches in the room. Now that the trial is in session, Swift Wind and Hisoka's coffins are open, and their bodies will be available for examination.

Lune and Sol are seated in their thrones, patiently waiting for the last participant to settle. It's only when everyone has gathered that Sol speaks first.

"We've got a lot of ground to cover today. Don't give up."

They stop, glancing at Lune and gesturing for them to say their piece.

"Face the truth directly, and don't turn away from what you may find."

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the fourth trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

As noted, there was no investigation period on Friday. However, today participants will have the chance to investigate areas in the game setting as they see fit! This can be done by providing the name of the location you want to visit to the host header comment. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. In addition, these locations can be manipulated and adjusted upon request to test theories and solve puzzles, so please feel free to ask if you're searching for clues! Your host will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

[ i'm gonna be honest the reaction to this is probably a lot more muted than it should be with someone cauterizing a wound closed, but like. y'all are seeing him shirtless for real. what is one more burn scar on top of all of that.

it's only like a half scream? it's great. it's amazing. there's a widdle whimper in there. ]

[ She'll laugh in a minute. Finally, when she's sure that the bleeding seems to have slowed, she'll start gently cleaning up around the wound with the cotton wool and some liquid out of what looks very much like a bottle? of alcohol? who raided the kitchen. ]

I can't count all of a sudden.

[ Then she sits back on her heels, and picks up the needle and lights up one more little burst of flame against the needle to sterilise it. ]

Here, I'm closing it. [ And then she's going to stitch that wound, and let's be honest after the fire blade against the wound this is going to probably be fine. ]

[leaberator]

[ he winces at the alcohol, and then actually hisses at every pull of the needle. like a weirdo who is a lot more used to fire than anything else. ]

... I think... you're messing with me, an' you can count just fine.

[ everything still hurts somehow? weird. the bleeding is internal and that's where all the blood is supposed to be? ]

[stillstands]

I have no idea what you're talking about.

[ She's tying off the thread now, and then looking over at Sol and Lune. ]

I can only do so much. What do I have to do to get you to deal with any internal injuries I can't fix?

[globs]

[ cinnabar would just watch in horror, but they're feeling a lot of secondary emotions, thanks to val, so they're creeping over, too, looking increasingly concerned for Axel the more things Miki sticks on and into him. They don't understand what's going on - but they feel really horrible about all of it. There's mercury welling up in their eyes again, but they don't exactly know why. ]

Do you have to keep hurting him? [ ... ] ... Is he going to die?

[stillstands]

[ She blinks, a little surprised. ]

I... no, I don't want to. But there things that have to be done to stop immediate danger. [ she takes a deep, slightly shaky breath. ]

Not if I can help it.

[globs]

You've got to help him.

[ they don't get it at all, but they know that. ]

You need to...

[stillstands]

Hey.

[ She's lowered her voice a bit now, keeping it gentle. ]

The immediate danger, the stab wound, is sorted. It's not bleeding, and I've cleaned and stitched it so it's not going to get infected.

He's also still sassing at everything, so he's probably alright for now. But we'll keep an eye on him, right?

[leaberator]

[ he makes a gesture like he agrees with cinnabar's first point even though he knows very well why this is happening.

anyway, then he wheezes a laugh again because he's terrible ]

Awwww, Cinna... didn't know you cared.

[ IS THIS THE TIME, YOU JACKASS? ]

[globs]

Shut up! Your blood's all coming out! You'll make it worse like that, won't you?

[ they want to argue that they don't care, but they totally feel like they care right now?! They can't parse all these feelings at the moment - they just feel deathly worried and sad, and he's the cause. ]

[leaberator]

It's stopped coming out...mostly.

[ he doesn't seem sure what to do with cinnabar with real feelings, though intellectually he guesses it's? val? but then he has to think about val feeling that strongly?

what do you mean it's not Only Xion ]
