week four: mingle

Week Four
22 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

In addition, ensure that all of your week three private conversations were reported on the page, and your week four private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[Alright, alright, he fiiiinally lets her have the book back even if he's still laughing at her like a jerk.]

Why would anyone think this is remotely romantic? Has Lune never experienced romance at all? Or Milla, for that matter?

[Does he need to set Milla up on a date.]

[ She just. Whacks him on the shoulder with it. Not with any real force, but he’s rude. It’s probably deserved. Either way, she still looks embarrassed as heck by this, thanks. ]

...

... Maybe they haven’t? I don’t fully know about Lune, but Milla’s not human, right? Maybe non-humans have different concepts of romance?

[ LET. MILLA. DATE. Responsibly and in no way like fifty shades. ]
twinsightful: (UNSURE ♜ Ahaha...yeahhh)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-02 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ow, hey! [He's trying to get her to not? That's just rude.]

Milla's not human but she's been around enough of us for some time now. It may be our jobs to educate her. Or we could just ask her what her concept of romance is. I'd rather not hear about Lune's.

[ Huff. ]

Maybe getting a baseline from her would be a good starting point. And then some better books. There’s probably non-fiction ones on the topic, I know Axel was looking at some the other week. But they’d probably need to be looked over as well because there’s some useless books in there too.

I burned the one he was reading last week. [Just saying. But she has a point.] There are a few good fictional ones if you know where to search. I noticed when I was browsing for something else earlier.

[ ... ]

It... wasn't a really creepy one, was it? Like. Talking about woman in transactional terms?

There are some classic ones. I remember reading a translation of Pride and Prejudice a while ago? Something like that maybe.
twinsightful: (NEUTRAL ♜ And I care why?)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-02 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It was. Why do you think I burned it in the first place? [He's pausing though.] I don't think I've ever read that one. I've heard of it, but I've been reading other things lately.

I threw that one down the stairs! Did he really keep reading it after that? [ squints??? ]
twinsightful: (UNSURE ♜ Ahaha...yeahhh)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-02 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Either that or there's more than one book on the subject which I would believe given this book was found among the shelves.

[ stop. ]

Is there just a whole adult book section hiding in plain sight here and we keep picking books from it? He was trying to research something about the heart, wasn't he? I doubt this--[ she waves the book once, almost dismissively ]-- sort of thing would help with that.
twinsightful: (CONFUSED ♜ Shrug)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-02 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It's possible. I haven't looked in depth but that seems to be a possibility we should consider. If you're researching the heart...wouldn't fairytales be just as effective as erotica? They're both fake.

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-07-02 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably better written though. Suggest them to Axel then, he's the one research hearts. Or... something like that.

[ Hm. ]

I wonder if they have the original versions, rather than the watered down versions?
twinsightful: (THOUGHTFUL ♜ A real Sherlock or somethin)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-03 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Of erotica? Or fairytales? [Just. One more jab. He can't help it.]

I wonder why he was researching hearts.
stillstands: (75)

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-07-03 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Fairytales.

[ NO....!!! ]

... I’m not sure. He was a bit evasive about it? I assumed it was something about relationships then, but he said that wasn’t right. Nor was asking if he was researching it anatomically.
twinsightful: (CURIOUS ♜ I don't really get it)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-03 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Axel in general seems kind of evasive even though when he's good at something he's really good. [He likes Axel enough, but eh.]

As for fairytales...I don't know. We could look?

[personal profile] stillstands 2019-07-03 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Axel's fine. He managed to make it through multiple weeks as Hisoka's partner, so he might actually be the strongest out of all of us. [ There's a thought. ]

Sure. Maybe there's some that are actually native to this place as well. Fairytales are just folk tales anyway, when you break it all down.
twinsightful: (BITTER ♜ You're dead to me)

[personal profile] twinsightful 2019-07-03 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh I never said he wasn't. [He agrees tbh because Hisoka is. So so much.]

You think? I found some from home but I didn't do a very thorough search, to be honest. It'd be helpful if we found anything native to this place.
