Week Four

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.



Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

[ This is nice? Cool, Minato's the first one in the hall only because he hasn't left the hall in the past 48 hours, lying on the ground with blankets that aren't his, but it's nice? To just lie around and do nothing, on the wrong side of the gate.

For most of the week he'll be right here """taking care of himself""" like people keep begging him to do aka deadass asleep the entire time. ]

ii.
[ If he gets up for anything, it's when he sees Kara enter the gateway, which means the kitchen is not guarded, which means Minato can get up and risk sneaking in there for half an hour at a time. He'd promised to make people several things and it's hard with a gatekeeper who would not hesitate to cut him down. ]

iii.
[ On the rare occasion Minato is actually inside the gateway, he can be found:
- asleep in one of the boats, just sort of drifting back and forth across the lake as the boat shuttles people across and he refuses to get out
- asleep on one of the moving staircases, curled up in one corner so nobody steps on him but also refuses to get up because maybe he wants to go up? or down? he's undecided and will sleep on it
- asleep in one of the classrooms, head down on his arms folded on the desk; this position is terrible for his back but it's the most familiar and most comfortable for him, do not disturb
- asleep in the common room on a squashy chair pulled right up in front of the fireplace so he can hog the heat and warm his back and zzzzz
- asleep on the train and hopefully he's not left here at the end of the week and everything goes poof with him in it ]

[ It's a break week... Minato is apparently making good use of that, never being awake so Xion can't read his thoughts, fingerguns ]

i. the library

[ After the last weekend's... everything, Miki's in the library. For some peace and quiet and actually taking the chance to read a fiction book instead of shoving her face in medical texts and non-fiction the whole time.

She, uh. Doesn't look too happy about it though? Depending on when you bump into her, her face is either going through Some Motions; none of them look especially happy or pleased, more like confused, or incredulous... or she's going bright red, and looking more and more flustered until she suddenly slams the book shut and pushes it across the table with such force it falls to the ground on the opposite site with a thud. ]

Oh my god, what has she been reading all this time??

ii. gateway

[ There's no point in sneaking around, practising her powers when no one was around to see her after using them so openly at the weekend. In fact, knowing everyone's abilities actually feels like a weight off her shoulders now. So, she's in an open area in the castle grounds, perched on a rock and frowning at her hands. ]

Okay, so first I--

[ When the little ball of flame appears in her hands it immediately flares up to the size of a coconut, making her yelp and the flame to splutter out completely. ]

What the? [ There's a frown, and when it appears again it's much more control, fluctuating a little before slowly growing to the size of a bowling ball. With a slow exhale, Miki focuses on it and after a minute of it just trembling in place, the ball of flame starts to make a slow, wobbly figure of eight in the air. ]

hot springs party that's it, that's the top-level.

[after a day of exploring the new location, it's time to relax. which means that's how lili is going to let every single person in the village who is Not A Man know that they're invited for a trip to the hot springs, and then expect the word of mouth to travel afterward. the entrance to the hot springs has a clear sign that says No Men Allowed because subtlety? not lili's best quality.

she somehow managed to wheel an entire rack of yukata from the boutique to the hot springs along with a selection of towels and other products to be used for relaxation! luxury! rich girls know how to party!

and also there's snacks. lots of snacks

it's not like lili was looking forward to this or anything.

[ Minato is the best person to ask for cue cards? In any given situation, there are only three answer choices, after all, and these have served him very well in the past 17 years of his life.

He takes three sheets of paper and writes down:

[ He looks... tired, mostly, the sort of tired when you sleep for too long and wake up more exhausted than you were before you fell asleep. But getting up for once does him good, being around people does him good, and having his head pat makes him smile, a little.

He reaches over and holds up one of his cue cards. It's the "whatever" one. ]

[ He sure is there!

He also sure is asleep, lying on the floor so that technically there's still room for four people? two of them just won't have leg room and will have to put their feet up on the bench. ]

[ she taps her chin

before writing out HUG ]

[ she is going to try to not get in his way then

but she will give his head a pat as she sits down ]

[ He stirs somewhat when Naminé pats his head, ducking his head a little without opening his eyes and— good thing, because the boat jumps a little on the wave and comes crashing back down, water spilling into the boat and drenching Naminé's feet and the left side of Minato's body.

Cold. ]

[shess can't deny that he's a little amused by minato sneaking into the kitchen. he stops by the entrance, and through his tablet:]

[ Shess is objectively the best? Minato smiles a little at the promise, dipping his head a little in thanks and then goes back to staring at the cupboard.

There are five jars of white powder.

None of them are labeled.

Maybe if he stares long enough he can figure out what's what. ]

[ Minato opens his mouth to say something but all he gets is a mouthful of slimy lake water. That's enough to get him to bolt upright, coughing and spitting the water out. Gross.

He stares at Naminé for a moment, and then lies back down again, face up. Can't breathe water if he's facing up. ]

[whitewalls]

Minato... please get on the bench.

[ before you drown and she has to explain this to akane ]

[ He'd just taken precautions not to drown? But he doesn't want Akane to be upset, especially not at Naminé, so he sits up again and this time he folds his arms and rests them on top of the bench next to Naminé, head resting sideways on his arms.

He lifts a hand and taps a finger on top of the opposite wrist. ]
