Week Four

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.



Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

[shess takes no responsibility, all he did was list ingredients? minato started immediately throwing them into water?]

We just need to find yeast, right?

[ Minato will take responsibility, but he also doesn't care, so he just nods. Yeah, Kara, where's yeast. ]

[ so guess who just learned you don't actually need water for curry bread so kara is just gonna stare at this bowl full of flour and water

and go dump the contents in the trash ]

We're starting over. The yeast is in that cabinet.

[ he points at one and goes to rinse out the bowl so they can try this again. ]

[shess goes off to fetch the yeast!]

[ Minato was just going to make bread, hollow it out, and stick curry inside, but Kara's the expert here and Minato just looks really sad at the flour/water being tossed away like that. He could have made something else with it... maybe he'll save it from the trashcan when Kara's back is turned.

But okay, they're starting over. Shess is getting yeast, Kara is presumably getting water, so Minato goes ahead and grabs another clean, dry bowl and tasks himself with filling it with ??? cups of flour. ]

[ this is why he doesn't want minato in his kitchen.

anyway he's going to pretend minato's not here i guess because you really don't need that much flour?? it's like. two and a half at most. so once the first bowl is dried he starts measuring the dry ingredients into it - flour, a dash of salt, some sugar... and whisk it all together.

the yeast will come later! minato got a little excited apparently. ]

[once shess is back he just watches kara. ooh, ahh, etc. making mental notes for minato's possible birthday bread...]

[ It's a public kitchen, Kara!!! Go back to Hogwarts and let him live.

He frowns a little at the fact that Kara gets his own bowl when Minato is clearly helping out by getting a second? But it's okay, it's fine, because Minato is here to learn, and he learns best by watching and doing, not by having somebody do everything for him.

He sort of eyeballs what Kara is doing— Minato has about three times as much flour, so everything Kara adds to his bowl, he adds the same but three times as much. There's only one whisk, though, so he uses his spatula. It'll be mixed again once you add water? Supposedly? So it shouldn't matter too much, at this stage. ]

[ if he's the one providing meals for everyone it becomes his kitchen okay :\

then - no, he doesn't go for the water, actually. kara actually goes to get the milk, and pour a little in. then the yeast can get mixed in.

see? it's not so hard. ]

What's next?

[ Milk... Minato goes ahead and adds three times as much milk, and also three times as much yeast. Baking bread is pretty easy? All he has to do is mix it, bake it at three times the temperature for three times as long, and then he can stuff it with curry. ]

[ not yet!! once there's a nice dough forming, kara puts a little ball of butter in the middle of it, and continues to knead with his hands. he does glance at minato to see how he's doing... why he had to use so much is a mystery, but. looks okay so far?

this is why he needs supervision in the kitchen. ]

[shess watches, silently cheering minato on!!]

[ Butter... Minato's dough gets three times as much butter, which is a scary amount to think of, but overall, it looks like Minato is doing just fine. With occasional glances over to Kara to see if there's a better technique for kneading, whether he should be using the heels of his palms of his knuckles or a rolling pin or whatever, he does fine.

If anything, Minato is very good at copying, after watching somebody just once. He has the technique down quickly, and if he were to follow a recipe step by step, he would have no trouble making anything.

Unfortunately, he doesn't believe in recipes, thinks he can do whatever and have it turn out, somehow. ]

[ shess is a good cheerleader sometimes

they'll have to knead the bread for a while, but when kara thinks he's done (minato might have more work to do, thanks to tripling the size??), he stops and sets the ball of dough back in the bowl. ]

You have to wait for it to rise - for about an hour.

[ What if Shess takes half of Minato's dough and helps him out??? he doesn't offer and Minato doesn't think to ask so I guess he's just kneading and kneading and kneading the dough. It's already almost overflowing the bowl as it is, so he really hopes it doesn't rise too much in an hour. Or... three hours. He'll check back in three hours. ]

[ he frowns at minato. ]

Are you really going to eat that much bread?

He does have to share it with Milla, I think.

[ Minato holds up three fingers, and Shess probably gets what this particular charade means now:

He holds up three fingers. Taps one, points at Kara. Taps the second, points at Shess. Taps the third and points towards the door. ]

This much already makes more than enough for two.

[ also, no, charades are bad. kara is going to let shess handle this one, so he leans against the counter instead. ]

I'd be happy to try as long as it doesn't have meat. I don't know about Ookurikara, though.

[ ...Minato adds a forth finger and taps his own chest; he'll eat all the leftovers. Shess can get plain bread unless Kara can make vegetarian curry. But what about Kara? ]

[ he still doesn't know what minato's on about, so he just talks to shess instead. ]

We don't have any right now, but vegetarian curry isn't that hard. I'd have to finish the bread tomorrow, though.

[shess looks momentarily surprised that kara is willing to make him food again, but. also,]

Minato wants you to eat some of his bread, I think.
