week four: mingle
Week Four
22 in Competition
22 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.
"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."
When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.
"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.
In addition, ensure that all of your week three private conversations were reported on the page, and your week four private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

looks back at writing. ]
Dare I ask why I saw my name somewhere in all of that?
no subject
Oho, are you interested as to what the fictional you has been up to?
no subject
no subject
You are a player on the stage of my writing practice, Julius. Are you not thrilled?
no subject
Which leads me to wonder exactly what this fictional me might have been doing.
no subject
Are you ready to hear of your heroic exploits?
no subject
[ julius no, curiosity killed the cat ]
no subject
Ahem!
"Julius jumped through the sky, riding on his wild lightning steed—thunder, a horse made of pure lightning. He was wearing an outfit made of rubber, which is resistant to lightning, so he was not zapped at all. His lightning horse went "neigh"!
Then Julius dropped out of the sky and slammed his two cool and sharp blades into the head of a wild beast, which was filled with corruption. Lightning went everywhere, as well as blood. Some blood went on the horse."
no subject
[ that's. the least of what he can say, but. (how is the horse of pure lightning supporting him if lightning is intangible. how is the blood landing on it instead of like. frying or something.
why does he sound like some sort of heroic figure in this.) ]
no subject
Leapt, was it? Yes, I suppose so... as for the blood, I just assumed it was very messy, and flying about. Perhaps I should say, "some blood went on Julius, but it did not stick to the rubber of his suit"...?
[In any case, she writes it.]
Shall I continue? We are getting to the good part where you sweep Grim Eyes into your arms, and combat the poisonous plant monster.
no subject
[ and those are already pretty bad. fuck vampiric plants--
but also somehow he doesn't think grim eyes is the type to enjoy playing damsel in distress, much less to. someone ... some years her junior? ]
no subject
[what in the hell does that mean]
Unless there is, perhaps, someone you would rather be sweeping?
no subject
Absolutely not. I'd make for a poor knight, much less the kind of hero who'd be sweeping people.
no subject
[Self-sufficient 15-year-olds changing the world]
no subject
they have
then he's probably either a: completely ignored it, b: didn't notice it, or c: swept it into the rest of the expectations he assumes people have for him and therefore didn't attribute it to any of his good looks or the lack thereof. give him a few years maybe to get into the full swing of his wild teenage years and then ask that again.
also, hasn't he already had this conversation with akane. uh oh. ]
... I confess I don't generally pay much attention to that sort of thing regularly.
no subject
[stop]
no subject
[ expectations are fun huh
he's not even touching the late bloomer thing. ]
no subject
I certainly understand being exasperated by the physical demands of such a thing.
no subject
no subject
[There's clearly something going on, something moving behind her eyes.
How, exactly, did she take that last statement?]
I had no idea you were so... experienced. Humans certainly do mature at different speeds.
no subject
what, exactly is this spirit lady thinking now, ]
... Whatever you're thinking, I am almost certain that it doesn't accurately reflect reality.
no subject
Now, now. You need not fabricate for me, Julius. I will not pry further into your life of passionate love.
