week four: mingle

Week Four
22 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

In addition, ensure that all of your week three private conversations were reported on the page, and your week four private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

That doesn't mean people adore me.

And I neither am a towering dream nor have a heart of gold, so yes, I would call that unrealistic.

Hah hah hah. You think so little of yourself, Shess! Perhaps these stories might help you imagine yourself in a greater light.

I have several other Shess exploits written—or I could even write you something impromptu! Hmm, that would be an excellent challenge.

No. That's all right.

[please sTOP]

Are you certain?

I was thinking a picnic with yourself, Lune, and Sol. You seem as though you'd get along.

[personal profile] nonbelligerent 2019-07-03 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
I do like them, but why would you write about us having a picnic?
tothemaxwell: (she's a bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-03 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Sol enjoys apples, and Lune quite likes to be spoiled with tea.

The image suits you quite well. Oh! I suppose I could write myself into it, as well. Wouldn't that be a pleasant story?
nonbelligerent: (the return. 4-4)

[personal profile] nonbelligerent 2019-07-03 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose. Don't stories usually need a plot, though?
tothemaxwell: (she's an atom bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-03 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Do they? I have read many meandering short and long stories that are simply a slice of a person's life—a retelling of their day, or a recount of events.

Is the happening in and of itself not a plot, in a way?

[She has begun writing again

it is the teaparty.]

Well, if it makes you happy...

[at least this fanfic is better than [redacted].]
tothemaxwell: (rigged up)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-04 10:03 am (UTC)(link)
It certainly does.

Unusually, I have written myself into this short excerpt, as well, as I treasure my time with Sol, Lune, and yourself. I am sure you are waiting to hear it, so I won't delay any longer. Ahem!

"Lune, Sol, Shess, and Milla were all enjoying some tea (which ["I" is scratched out, and replaced] Milla made). The ingredients to the fresh tea are dried pieces of fruit, herbs, and a light green tea, giving it a refreshing taste and floral scent.

Lune drinks some tea and says 'this is the best. I love drinking tea with my good friends Shess and Milla, neither of who are humans. But we like humans together and we are working hard and doing our best, aren't we?'

Sol drank some tea and reminisced about family, and smiles also. Everyone smiled together, because they were friends, and gave each other hugs."

[uh]

Well, that's very sweet.
tothemaxwell: (she's an atom bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-04 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
I am very glad you feel that way.

Doesn't it refresh you? I nearly feel as though I am transported, and it is only my amateur writing!

Reading truly is the best.

[personal profile] nonbelligerent 2019-07-04 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[after reading milla's hisoka/axel fanfiction i suddenly cannot complain about anything she has written about shess]

I'm glad you're enjoying yourself.
tothemaxwell: (she's a bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-08 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Much more so than I imagined I would.

Have you ever tried writing, Shess?
nonbelligerent: (the night it rained fire. 19-3)

[personal profile] nonbelligerent 2019-07-08 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Besides what I have to do on a daily basis here?
tothemaxwell: (she's an atom bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-08 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
[She actually chuckles at that with good humor.]

Ha ha ha. Of course, I refer to fictionally.

Do you have hobbies you enjoy?
nonbelligerent: (lies for you. 1-3)

[personal profile] nonbelligerent 2019-07-08 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the sura realm doesn't have all the things that the human realm does, and I don't have much time for hobbies when in the latter...
tothemaxwell: (bad news)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-08 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
What a shame—humans really have created some truly eccentric pursuits. Sampling them has been one of the pleasures I was able to experience while in the physical realms.

While you are here, Shess, I encourage you to participate in one or two. A new experience, no matter how trivial, is never a waste, after all. I would be more than happy to join you in it.
nonbelligerent: (lies for you. 12-3)

[personal profile] nonbelligerent 2019-07-08 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a good outlook to have on life.
tothemaxwell: (she's an atom bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-08 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[This elicits its own little chuckle.]

As slippery as ever, I see.

Are Sura encouraged not to take part in such light-hearted pursuits?
nonbelligerent: (the night it rained fire. 20-2)

[personal profile] nonbelligerent 2019-07-08 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, many do look down on anything created by humans, though it's not an attitude I share.
tothemaxwell: (she's a bomb)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-08 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[She nods her approval at his open-minded stance, one she naturally shares.]

Have you ever painted? Written? Danced? Sung?
nonbelligerent: (twisted bird. 11-2)

[personal profile] nonbelligerent 2019-07-09 12:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[he taps his throat.

how would he sing, milla.]
tothemaxwell: (stand back)

[personal profile] tothemaxwell 2019-07-10 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, of course. What a shame—although I suppose there is no helping that.

What of the others? You certainly seem to have the technology for advanced arts.
nonbelligerent: (lies for you. 1-3)

[personal profile] nonbelligerent 2019-07-10 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the technology belongs to the humans, not my kind. I haven't done them often, no.
