week four: mingle
Week Four
22 in Competition
22 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.
"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."
When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.
"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.

Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.
In addition, ensure that all of your week three private conversations were reported on the page, and your week four private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[ I can't believe this entire week I haven't been able to get him onto a broom. ]
no subject
Minato: he totally wants it
He drags himself over to the broom and picks it up, drags himself to Julius and sets it down in front of him. ]
No need to be shy. Take it. You need this more than I do.
[ As he hobbles away, you're welcome. ]
1/2
minato he only has one injured leg to your injured everything, how does that follow as needing it more
oh hell no get back here-- ]
2/2
Get on the broom. I'm not indulging your self-destructive tendencies today. You said before it could probably support the both of us; let's actually put that to the test.
no subject
Oh... Okay. Front or back?
[ Who wants to hold onto who. Minato isn't shy about it either way. ]
no subject
You can decide. I'm not all that picky as long as you get on.
no subject
[ A better question is: who do you trust to drive, Minato or Julius? ]
no subject
anyway julius thinks that over for a while microsecond before deciding ]
Never mind, then. I'll be in front. Just makes sure to hold on to the key.
no subject
I'll try not to drop it.
[ Julius should hold onto the key, tbh. Stick it in his shoe or something. ]
no subject
... Would you be more confident holding the key, or steering?
no subject
[ He would drop the key and he would crash the broom, but the latter is still more fun. ]
no subject
hedges. ]
... Hand me the key and get in front, then. You can steer our way back.
[ the field isn't that long and hopefully he can still backseat drive enough to prevent disaster. what could possibly go wrong. ]
no subject
Minato hands Julius the key, and sits up front enough that Julius will have ample space behind him. ]
no subject
why does anyone let Minato do anything. ]
no subject
They're not even going forward, it's just up. ]
no subject
I certainly hope that was purposeful on your part, and if so, it isn't as if we need to go that far.
[ in fact he may be leaning his weight forward to try to pitch the nose down somewhat. ]
no subject
Anyways, Minato keeps silent, because Julius can hope what he wants and it has no bearing on what Minato was or was not trying to do.
Julius is right; they needn't go very far to travel half the length of the Quidditch field. But leaning forward seems to do the trick, bringing them level again to the ground... and then nosediving towards the ground...
Hermione stares up at the sky at them and gives them a look, wand out. If they don't pull up, she's going to blast them out of the sky, don't think she won't. ]
no subject
So instead of crashing, they do this sort of awkward rough tumble off the broom, probably. Right to Hermione, I guess. ]
I think I remember North banning you from motorized vehicles until you learned how to drive. I suspect if she were here, she would have said the same for these brooms.
[ This was supposed to be a nice gesture to keep him from being a bigger mess??? ]
