Week Four

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.



Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

In addition, ensure that all of your week three private conversations were reported on the page, and your week four private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

I really don't deal with them all that much on a regular basis, that's the thing. I don't think there's room for much of a 'usually' when I'm working alone a lot of the time, or only talking to someone once in passing...

If I really had to say, I suppose they'd consider me frigid and hard to approach, or distantly polite at best?

[ then there's always too serious, stuffy, fussy, what have you. ]

I guess I can see that... You do tend to come off like you prefer to be by yourself. I think that can be nice sometimes. [ ie: she's a shut-in. ]

But I'm always happy when you talk to me.

And here I thought I was just inflicting myself upon you every time.

But it's not really a preference, honestly. It's just... easier, for everyone involved that way.

[ she leans over to bump her shoulder against him. ] Not at all.

... Easier? What makes you say that?

[ siiide glance. doesn't meet her eyes, but smiles mildly, blandly anyway. ]

... People wouldn't miss me as much if there's no one to miss.

[ 'less people inevitably get hurt by something happening to me if i'm a dick' ]

But I wouldn't let anything happen to you. And don't you want people to be upset if you're gone?

If it's something that looks more likely than not, it'd cause less trouble for people if I just... didn't make those kinds of bonds before breaking them.

No one is going to praise you for making an easy good bye.

[ And why would anyone do anything if not to be praised for it? And that's kind of harsh concept, but she but she offers it gently, as if she... Actually wants to share her thoughts without hurting feelings? What the fuck. ]

If anything, they'll just be mad that you made them waste your time together if it was going to be cut short.

I know. [ he says it so plainly, like people not liking him is just something to be expected. even if it he doesn't receive any form of validation for it, even if it means what he does with himself is meaningless, ] So why not spare them that time in the first place?

[ he leans back a little, shifting his weight. ]

... Or at least try to, but obviously, that isn't exactly working out here. And I don't want to die, anyway, so.

Since I'm telling you that I won't let you die, then you shouldn't bother holding back.

[ Well that sure is a bold claim in a place like this but okay. ]

You should spend your time with people properly.

You seem pretty confident about saying something like that. [ but it's mildly teasing, rather than dubious. ] Should I start thinking of you as my knight in shining armor, in that case?

[ and if that sounds just a little bit ridiculous when put that way, shhh ]

But if that's so, why don't we start by heading up to the gardens for real, then? It's a nice day out, after all.

[ A knight, huh...? ]

I've always thought of myself as more of a princess, but... If that's what you're into, knights are pretty cool.

[ She offers out her hand like a gentleman, then! Let us walk! ]

[ and he'll take her hand very properly! let us walk. though he does respond, on the way: ]

Really? [ well, traditionally, the archetypes and genders, sure, but... ] It seems like it'd be terribly lonely. In most stories, the princess just... waits to be saved.

[ nobody say anything. he just gives her a faint, mild- and slightly sharp- smile. ]

You don't strike me as the type, somehow.

[ Her hand twitches at that. "You don't strike me as the type." Look, he probably means she's not the type to wait around, but all she can think is:

... Right. She's not the type to be saved. ]

I just like the part about being spoiled and pampered.

[ he does feel that hand twitch and glances over in faint concern, but in lieu of knowing what he did or said wrong just squeezes back a little, in hopes of conveying reassurance.

I suppose I'll have remember that: lots of gifts, for a lady who works quite hard.

What do I like...? [ and if he doesn't sound unsure about the question, then whew. ]

I think I'd just really be happy enough to live a peaceful and quiet life. Nothing looming over us, the threat of the world- or worlds- ending, no one expecting things of us.

[ freedom from responsibilities, maybe. ]

A world where nothing goes wrong and nothing is out of place.

[ Nothing unreasonable about that, if you ask her. ]

Dreams like that are achievable, you know? You just have to work hard for them, and then you can relax as much as you want.
