week five: mingle

Week Five
22 in Competition

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I would not grow complacent, but I also wonder if you all might enjoy the surprise."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"Maybe we can have another week like the last. It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Good luck out there."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to see odd mirages and hear voices calling for them. Even though they might not realize it, these phantoms that will be haunting them will be their partner's most important person, calling for them to come home. Partners will only be able to see each other's illusions if they make physical contact.

Welcome to your week five mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be having another CYOA this week! Sign ups are here and will close on Tuesday at 8 AM PST.

In addition, ensure that all of your week four private conversations were reported on the page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

parade

[ Four hesitates for a second before she takes the seat next to Emma. ]

No, there's nothing quite so grand or opulent like this. Unless you count troops of soldiers marching similar.

[She laughs, though it's soft.]

That's... definitely not something I would compare to a parade, no. Unless your soldiers traveled via float.

[ A pause. ]

Do air ships count?

I think I should make the distinction that parades and war activities are distinct in pretty much every way.

Hm? I don't know about every way. It's very hard to miss either of them once they're in full swing...but in most ways, yes.

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-10 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, but one of them is a whole lot happier than the other.

[She shrugs.]

Have you checked out the rest of the place yet?

I've seen some of the tents and the blimp. There are sheep that welcome you.

[ At least, she thinks they're supposed to be sheep. ]

There are... sheep on the blimp?

[She pauses for a moment, before laughing.]

You know, at some point I'm really going to stop questioning anything that happens here.
forefall: (o heavens!)

Things do only get weirder and weirder.

[ If not deadlier and deadlier. ]

They're... odd sheep. They talk?

[ Someone has yet to explain robots to her in detail. ]

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-12 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
...Talking animals aren't exactly a new thing here, but the sheep part is. What were they like?
forefall: (farewell vivid brightness)

[personal profile] forefall 2019-07-12 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
[ She does a poor imitation of their robotic speech: ]

Welcome back!

[ And back to her normal voice. ]

They go baa, too. They don't like rudeness.

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-12 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Well... At least they seem nice?

[She doesn't really know what else to make of robot sheep.]
forefall: (turning here and there)

[personal profile] forefall 2019-07-12 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
They want niceness.

[ Are they nice? That's... something to be determined still. ]
foodbin: (pic#13146168)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-13 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
So... Talking sheep that care very much about manners.
forefall: (where the torches of evening kindle a da)

[personal profile] forefall 2019-07-13 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
[ She nods. ]

I approve of their priorities.

[ Even if she thinks they're odd. ]
foodbin: (pic#13146172)

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-13 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
[She gives a small laugh.]

Yeah, it seems like you would.

[personal profile] forefall 2019-07-13 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
I like it when things are proper.

[ She tries so hard to be proper. ]

The airship gives a very nice view, too, so I'd recommend visiting it when it flies.

[ What's a blimp. ]

[personal profile] foodbin 2019-07-14 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Do you want to visit it together?
forefall: (where the torches of evening kindle a da)

[personal profile] forefall 2019-07-16 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Whenever you have time is fine.
