week five: mingle
Week Five
22 in Competition
22 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.
"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I would not grow complacent, but I also wonder if you all might enjoy the surprise."
When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.
"Maybe we can have another week like the last. It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Good luck out there."
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to see odd mirages and hear voices calling for them. Even though they might not realize it, these phantoms that will be haunting them will be their partner's most important person, calling for them to come home. Partners will only be able to see each other's illusions if they make physical contact.

Welcome to your week five mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be having another CYOA this week! Sign ups are here and will close on Tuesday at 8 AM PST.
In addition, ensure that all of your week four private conversations were reported on the page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[Though she wanders through the tents that contain clothing, jewelry, and even the one with fireworks... It's the food one she lingers in longest, though it's more to look at the size of some of the confections more than anything else. As she looks at one particularly large funnel cake:]
That... is bigger than my head. [A small laugh, and then, to anyone who might be nearby:] You want to give it a shot?
gateway, parade
[As the parade passes through the town, Emma has found a place to sit comfortably and watch them pass by. There's a small smile on her face as she looks at everyone pass by, and should she see anyone approach, she pats the spot next to her, beckoning them to sit.]
Did you have stuff like this where you're from?
wildcard
[She'll be wandering around the gateway for a while, so hit me up with any other prompt you'd like to play out!]

Probably... somewhere on earth. [ How wide a scale of "where you're from" is Emma looking for? ]
...I've never seen this stuff up close and in person, though. Have you?
no subject
[She laughs.]
Yeah. I was actually in Brazil during the Rio Carnival one year... It was pretty amazing.

[ He still feels like he understands nothing about Emma, but backpacking for fun is just something he can't wrap his mind around. ]
Was it anything like this?
no subject
No. Much more people, much louder... Busier in general.

No, there's nothing quite so grand or opulent like this. Unless you count troops of soldiers marching similar.
no subject
That's... definitely not something I would compare to a parade, no. Unless your soldiers traveled via float.
