As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.

"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I would not grow complacent, but I also wonder if you all might enjoy the surprise."

When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.

"Maybe we can have another week like the last. It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Good luck out there."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to see odd mirages and hear voices calling for them. Even though they might not realize it, these phantoms that will be haunting them will be their partner's most important person, calling for them to come home. Partners will only be able to see each other's illusions if they make physical contact.

I’ve seen pictures of them, sure! [ hey.... ] But not live performances or anything... but there really isn’t anything like it. It does looks like something kinda magical when you see pictures.

I almost wish this gateway had some performers for that reason. Imagination is one thing, but seeing something in person is different. The performances we've seen are a little more elaborate, but perhaps we can convince someone else to try for us.

[stillstands]

Yeah. It'd be nice to see it all in action, like everything was normal. But I guess the point is that it isn't.

What sort of performances? I can't see many of us being willing to walk a tightrope...

[twinsightful]

Four and I were testing the cannon earlier. [No.]

[stillstands]

[ SHE JUST. LOOKS AT HIM.

THIS EXACT FACE. ]

[twinsightful]

It's really not as bad as it sounds! We tried with a broom first.

[stillstands]

[ STILL THIS FACE? ]

If I made any suggestions you're not reckless as hell sometimes, I take them back.

[twinsightful]

No, see, reckless would have been allowing myself to be launched from a cannon. That thought never even crossed my mind.

[stillstands]

If it never even crossed your mind, why is it the first thing you're bringing up now??

[ BOY?? ]

[twinsightful]

Because it's elaborate and entertaining? My focus is on the rings of fire.

[stillstands]

[ She just makes this exasperated noise???? ]

That really isn't much better, but at least it doesn't involve flinging yourself out of a lit canon.

[ don't yeet the boi ]

[twinsightful]

Exactly my point. I think it's an upgrade and all the more reason I should focus on perfecting the fire ring.

[stillstands]

[ CLOSES EYES LOUDLY ]

I’m fully aware I’m not going to be able to talk you out of messing with the fire rings, you don’f have to try and make it sound like the better option.

[ she’s just. so resigned. as long as he doesn’t go up in flames that’s all she can ask. ]

[twinsightful]

Can you blame me? It's been several weeks and I'm just now getting really good with the full extent of my powers. Need I remind you that these don't exist where I'm from?

[stillstands]

They don't exist where I'm from either. I keep kinda forgetting that they exist...

[ Hm. ]

But, go on then. I want to see what you've been able to do with these powers.

[twinsightful]

[Leaving the cannon behind, he grins and approaches one of the rings. Give him a moment to light it on fire before he concentrates...and starts to move the flames around the ring in a circle. Tadaaaa.]

[stillstands]

[ She does have a feeling of fear when he moves closer to the fire rings, but when they light up and start moving around the frame, she can't help but clap her hands. Impressive. ]

You've really got the control part down. How long have you been practising?

[twinsightful]

With these rings? I haven't. But I've been testing my control since the first week. [He looks so proud of himself, it's stupid.] I figured that was the most important part of our powers in the first place.

[stillstands]

[ He did good. Be proud, Kaoru. ]

Being able to actually use them efficiently? Yeah. That is important. [ Hm. ] Also, not forgetting you have them in the first place.

[twinsightful]

If you're consistently practicing you can't forget. [The fire spins a little faster.] Being able to have control of something like a flame that can cause maximum damage is probably the greatest asset to have. It means being able to use it without having to plan a lot.

[stillstands]

So, just flinging recklessly but having the control to make it work?

[ She's smiling though. And then she holds out her hands and after a moment, summons fire into her palms. It flares a little before settling down, and she keeps it steady, hovering over her hands. ]

[twinsightful]

Yeah! [No.] You never know when you'll have to actually throw fire without causing an entire area to burn down. [He glances at her hands though.] You're not doing so bad yourself though.

[stillstands]

I'm not moving it around though. I'm a little worried I'm gonna be the one who burns down the tent, now.

[twinsightful]

I don't know if it'd even burn. But you can't be afraid of stuff like that. How else will you learn?

[stillstands]

I can practice and learn without being reckless, I think. [ She's still maintaining the flame though, and slowly starts letting it rise up and down. ]

I'm happy with baby steps. I'll leave the flashy stuff to you.
