Week Six

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"Morning. You've done well purging the corruption in the previous gateway, and we'll be doing the finishing touches ourselves. Thank you for your help. In the meantime, we've got another one for you to explore. It's... kind of huge, so stick together when you can."

When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.

"Hm... There also appears to be something of a change on the horizon. If you are no longer obligated to those you have been attached to - will you stay by their sides?"

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find themselves capable of seeing one another's memories at the simplest form of contact. For those who are closer to one another, they may see a memory the moment they make eye contact, while those who are less familiar may require a slight touch. The memories will feel as though the viewer is experiencing the event themselves.

While it may not be made immediately obvious - there is no partner effect for the week. The houses of the departed partners may disappear, but there is otherwise no bond attaching pairs.

i. kitchens

[ Akane is sulking around this entire week, moving slow and listless. Which means that whenever she's hungry long enough to actually eat, she heads to the kitchens and then just. Sits there because she loses the energy to actually make anything. Or maybe she actually ate, and you catch her with the empty cup from instant noodles nearby, but now getting up to leave is too much energy.

If she catches you staring for too long she just glares. ]

ii. the steps of memsharing

[ Apparently, at some point, Akane wanted to climb those 125 steps up the mountain. But that time is over now, and she's not at the top of the mountain, so she's just sitting on the steps about halfway up.

Enjoying the solitude...? Or not. Anyway, wow, with her sitting in the way like this, it sure would be easy for your character to accidentally bump into her and trigger a memshare without meaning to! If they're not the type to strike up conversation! Memshare with me!!!!! ]

[ As always, I'm open to PCs, but also as always, Akane is just being a little bitch like this all over the place, so if you want to change the location... She's wherever... Sulking and pouting and being a silent moody drama queen. ]

[shess doesn't bump into her, because he's more careful than that, instead stopping a few steps in front of her.]

[ Akane has to assess him for a moment and weigh how much she hates him. It's mostly an irritation-by-proxy, so... She's willing to engage, with a very sincere: ]

[ well at least after monday kara will be going back to the kitchen to cook so no one starves because he was being emo. akane's there when he arrives, and he just stares at her for a moment before moving to the stove, setting his sword down against the cabinet as per usual. ]

You need something to eat?

[ Akane assesses her frustration... And settles on: who cares, I'm so hungry. ]

... Yeah.

Is curry good enough?

[ kara's cold so it's either this or noodles. this gateway sucks so far :\ ]

[ Oh. She's kind of surprised she gets any say? ]

Curry is fine.

[ he nods and sets about finding the ingredients and spices. as he pulls out the cutting board, though, he'll turn back to akane briefly. ]

Do you want to help make it?

[ he remembers how she wanted to learn before, and since he's lost his usual cooking assistant... well. she wouldn't be unwelcome. ]

[ honestly, xion was just trying to decide on something from the freezer, but she's just a little too short to reach for something in the very back so she was looking around to see if someone taller was around to help... but, like, now that akane has her attention... ]

... Did you get your boxcutter back from Lune?

[specialdog]

[ Akane would offer to help but she's Akane, so she won't. Also she's shorter than Xion anyway. ]

No. I don't want to talk to Lune-san. And I shouldn't have to go collect what's mine to begin with.

That's... weird that he didn't give it back. Maybe he was busy getting ready for...

[ ... she trails off there, because she doesn't really want to say "getting ready for murdering four," but it's a little late for her to take back what she's already started to say... fuq ]

... Killing one of his own agents for putting someone out of their misery?

[ ... Yeah. ]

[ At least Akane is a little more receptive to the apology, since it's Namine... ]

[ Akane just watches her. ]

How are... [ Akane trails off like she almost thinks twice about asking at all, but. She's being kind! See! ] How are you holding up?
