INTRO LOG
Week Zero
32 in Competition
32 in Competition
The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.
A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.
Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.
Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.
It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.

Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.
Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

[ she looks back at the gate. ]
Maybe there's a sign on the other side.
no subject
Wonder if it's flammable...
no subject
[ is that safe ]
It could be dangerous.
no subject
[ implied: so? ]
Just enough to weaken the structure. We can make sure to have plenty of water on hand, too.
no subject
[ this still sounds like a terrible idea ]
no subject
[ He knows how to do this. He's watched movies. ]
no subject
We can probably get the first two out in the fields.
no subject
no subject
[ given that they're strangers and you need them to see
but she'll move to start walking, only hesitating to see if he's coming too ]
no subject
[ It will be for a good cause, and he's sure one of them (Naminé) would be able to explain why they're in dire need of the glasses.
But he follows after her-- he steps almost in line beside her, but keeps slightly behind, remaining largely in her periphery without disappearing in her blind spot. Apparently, it's follow the leader, and Naminé is Leader. ]
no subject
but towards the field they go!
well, specifically the barn, because that seems like the most likely spot to find tools they might need? ]
no subject
[ Naminé is fired at being leader.
But the barn is also pretty useful for what's inside. ]
Look, it's a tractor. Do you know how to drive?
no subject
[ i honestly do not think she has ever been in a vehicle in her life
anyway ]
Is it difficult?
no subject
[ The train had gone 2309547283 mph speeding off the rails, but it's fine. He's got this, heading towards the tractor and pulling himself up onto the driver's seat before extending a hand to Naminé. ]
Let's try it out... We might not need the fire, in the end.
no subject
... alright. We can give it a try.
[ she'll take his hand. ]
no subject
Alright... Do you remember where the gate is? We'll need straight, unhindered path to build up speed.
no subject
[ give her a moment, but then she'll point. ]
There.
[ this is fine. ]
no subject
no subject
once they pick up speed though, she's going to grab on to the seat so she doesn't fall the fuck over ]
no subject
Predictably, they crash into the gate.
Also predictably, the gate does not break.
The tractor breaks? There's smoke? Fire?? It's hard to tell with all the spots of light flashing in his vision and the way his entire body feels numb and on fire at the same time. ]
no subject
naminé is... well, she's not doing much better. she's sort of not on the seat anymore, instead on the floor where your feet normally go. she groans. ]
no subject
Minato gives himself a little more time to regain consciousness, numbness lessening to something a bit more tingly and a lot more painful. His nose is running— bleeding, he thinks— but that's fine.
He looks up. ]
...It didn't work...
[ He starts putting the tractor into reverse. Never give up. ]
no subject
[ she's mostly dazed, so she doesn't even realize that the tractor is moving at first. it's only when she slowly starts to climb back onto the seat and notices the scenery changing. ]
Is that... fire...?
no subject
[ Is it the tractor on fire? The scenery? Doesn't matter. ]
Yeah. Maybe it'll help, and will work this time.
no subject
We're doing it again?!
